25.01.2022 Melbourne Cup... The race that stops a nation. Things might be a little quieter this year, but remember to choose the right footwear for this years Melbourne Cup. Aneara's podiatrist approved sandals are perfect. Now there is a time and place for stilettos or high heels but standing all day, they wouldn’t be my choice. Wear the flats after the first five minutes no one will even notice and by the end of the day everyone will be jealous.

24.01.2022 Lets talk Heel Counters... I know I have spoken about them before but they are so important. Why? The heel counter is designed to hold the foot securely in place. You need firm support around the ankle in order to support your feet! If you are looking at other brands make sure the shoe has a firm heel counter. It's an easy check. Press into the heel with your thumb it should be firm and not fold in.... @thewifecreative

19.01.2022 Where does your shoe bend? Another tip when buying shoes. Squeezing both ends of the shoe together (heel to toe), the shoe should bend where your foot naturally bends at the toes. The shoe needs to work with the foot, and if it bends in the middle this can cause extra stress underneath the foot.

15.01.2022 Fun Fact Day 2... I am short only 5'2" and when I was younger I always wore high heels not necessarily stilettos, actually never stilettos, but always something with a heel. Now I pay the price.

14.01.2022 I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Now I know that might not be for all of you but for me, I can see it, I think I can nearly taste it. The thought my kids are going back to school on the 25 May is so exciting. I love my kids and my husband, but just sometimes I would like some time to myself, even if it is to go to the bathroom. My experience of home learning, well I have actually enjoyed it. I have been able to sit in classes with my kids to really kno...w what they are learning. The fact we don't have to rush and get up in the mornings and no after school activities has been wonderful. I hope to take out of this is that we don't need to do so many activities, the kids don't need them and it doesn't make them a better person, it actually just stresses everyone out. A family afternoon walk is just as good and it's free. Let me assure you it's hasn't been all roses. Yesterday I was, dentist, doctor, plumber, air conditioner installer, IT Support, Maths Tutor (Year 5), English Tutor (Year 7), hospital appointment maker for my mother, wife, mother, my own business owner, oh and also trying to help out in our family business. No wonder I am tired. Most of the time I do these without a blimp but sometimes it gets hard. So fingers crossed, we will get to Monday 25 May all in one piece and my house will return to normal, well a new kind of normal.

09.01.2022 Top tips for buying shoes... If you can bend your shoes in half or really anywhere (other than slightly at the toes) don't buy it. Shoes that bend all over or are easily twisted don't provide enough support. If you can bend it..... don;t buy it...

08.01.2022 It would be fair to say that 2020 has thrown us a curve-ball. But I think that its not all doom and gloom. I have learnt what is important. Health, Family and Friends.... What have you learnt this year?

07.01.2022 Twisting is not great... If you hold both ends of the shoe and twist in opposite directions, there should be minimal movement. Torsional stability protects the foot from rolling in or out too far. Without adequate torsional support, you are more likely to experience foot and leg fatigue, knee and back pain. So remember if you can twist them - don't buy them..

04.01.2022 Sand, Sea and Sunshine... A perfect recipe for better health. Over the past few months not only have we been put in this very strange bubble, but my mum has been sick. In and out of hospital four times. It now looks like she is on the mend. One of the things she would love, is to see the water, the rolling crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean. So it is my plan to take her to see the sea and maybe even help the local economy while we are there. While she will definitely not... be dipping her toes into the water, I will and getting a natural foot exfoliation while I am there. 03.01.2022 Today we are talking cushioning.. Now you can have too much cushioning, I often hear oh I love a particular brand because they are like wearing slippers. Well wearing slippers all day can be bad for your feet. While it is ideal to have multiple layers of cushioning under the heel and forefoot, avoid shoes that are too soft and provide little support.
