21.01.2022 The process of #honey #extraction : The top left photo shows a #honeyframe, covered in #wax , ready for #harvesting . The bottom left photo shows the honey frame, full of honey, after the surface wax has been removed with a knife. The photo on the right is of the honey frames spinning in the stainless steel #extractor ; the honey is flung out onto the sides of the extractor, where it runs down the sides and is then collected at the bottom. #honeyextraction #beeswax #bee #glassjars #angasriverhoney #ohsosweet #amazingbees #stainlesssteel #autumn #goldenhoney #fleurieufood #buylocal #freshhoney #hexagon #centrifugalforce #strathalbyn

15.01.2022 Today’s #hive inspection revealed a number of #honey frames ready for #harvest . The bees ‘cap’ the honey with white #wax when the honey is ready; when the whole frame is fully capped, it is able to be harvested and extracted. #bee #bees #extraction #honeyharvest #homegrown #angasriverhoney #fleurieufood #buylocal #glassjar #fresh #amazingbees #strathalbyn

10.01.2022 Bee heaven in the pumpkin patch this morning. You can see a lot of #hair on the #bee in the photo on the left. The hairs help with pollen collection, and thus also with plant pollination. Some of the bees seemed so laden with #pollen that they were struggling to fly. Hopefully it’s going to be a good #pumpkin season . #honey #bees #autumn #pumpkinpatch #pollination #flowers #vegetables #strathalbynhoney #fleurieufood #strathalbyn

06.01.2022 Our bees are absolutely loving the flowering sedum ‘Autumn Joy’ at the moment. The photo doesn’t do it justice, but the mass of flowers are covered in bees.

01.01.2022 Some of our creamy harvest from January.
