20.01.2022 Bluebottle jellyfish are making their way onto our beaches once again this summer and we would like to remind you of a few tips and tricks to keep safe around t...hese big blue guys. Bluebottle stings can be very painful with the sting often appearing as a white welt on the skin with a prominent beading effect. What to do if you or someone else has been stung by a bluebottle: Seek assistance from lifesavers and alert other water users Keep the victim at rest, reassure and keep under constant observation Do not allow rubbing of the sting area Pick off any tentacles (this is not dangerous to the rescuer) and rinse sting area well with seawater to remove invisible nematocysts Place the victims sting area in hot water (no hotter than the patient can comfortably tolerate) for 20 minutes If local pain is unrelieved by heat, or if hot water is not available, apply a cold pack or ice in a dry plastic bag If pain persists or is generalised, if the sting area is large (half a limb or more), or involved sensitive areas (e.g. the eye) call an ambulance (dial 000) Australia Venom Research Unit - 1300 760 451 Poisons Information Centre - 13 11 26 For further information, head to beachsafe.org.au #beachsafe #bluebottlejellyfish #jellyfish #stingers #lifesaver

19.01.2022 Now that our kids are a little older we can start doing more adventurous activities. Yesterdays outing took us to Blazing Saddles, just out of Aireys Inlet. Signed both myself and my eight year old daughter up for their Beginners ride. It was seriously awesome! Beautifully trained horses, experienced instructors and lovely bush track. Highly recommended. (Slightly offended by the Melon head helmet! )

17.01.2022 Spent a very relaxing few hours at the at the Lux Spa in Anglesea which is part of the Great Ocean Road Resort. The staff were so lovely and the massage, facial and manicure were wonderful. Follow their page for great deals.

14.01.2022 I Coogorah Park! I hope my kids never get bored of this place. Its tucked behind the Great Ocean Road so if youre coming from Melbourne you need to go over the river, turn right into Noble St and then take the first right. Keep going until you hit a dirt road and then continue until you reach the park.

11.01.2022 On your mark.....get set.....go! Anglesea is one of the best places to go bike riding. Theres lots of hidden bike paths that weave through the bush or you can ride along the foreshore. Theres even the Anglesea Bike Park for older kids!

08.01.2022 Anglesea art show is on this weekend. I truly love community shows and markets, such a lovely vibe. $3 entry and works available to buy (although many had sold by the time we left).
07.01.2022 Signed up for a chocolate tasting at the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie. Only $3 and goes for 20 mins. Fun to try different flavours but still not sure on the eucalyptus one!

02.01.2022 You can walk to the Anglesea Golf Club from our house but this is a great initiative if youre staying further away this Easter. Weve always enjoyed our meals in the restaurant and the kids love seeing the kangaroos on the golf course.
