25.01.2022 Some of our treasures for sale tomorrow.
25.01.2022 We seldom notice how each day is a holy place Where the eucharist of the ordinary happens, Transforming our broken fragments Into an eternal continuity that kee...ps us. Somewhere in us a dignity presides That is more gracious than the smallness That fuels us with fear and force, A dignity that trusts the form a day takes. So at the end of this day, we give thanks For being betrothed to the unknown And for the secret work Through which the mind of the day And wisdom of the soul become one. JOHN O'DONOHUE Excerpt from the blessing, 'The Inner History of a Day,' found in the books: Benedictus (Europe) / To Bless the Space Between Us (US) Ordering Info: https://www.johnodonohue.com/store Co Kerry, Ireland - 2020 Photo: Ann Cahill
25.01.2022 The world needs community like never before. In that spirit, we offer these prayers. 1 September 2020 God of our knowing selves,... God of our inquisitive selves: when we stop being curious, our relationships wither. May we encounter others today not with our minds made up, but with our ears pricked up with interest and fascination. May we form questions still open to the possibility of surprise, finding something wonderful in answers we weren’t expecting, and discovering how everyday experiences can still change us, when we let them. Amen. www.corrymeela.org

22.01.2022 O Lord, support us all the day long, till the shadows lengthen, and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done! Then in Thy mercy give us a safe lodging, and a holy rest, and peace at the last.

15.01.2022 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT BY JIM PALMER I'm giving you permission for something today in case you need it. I'm giving you permission to just be where you are ...and who you are right now - to simply be 'you,' however messy that might seem to you in this moment. It's okay. Whatever your unanswered questions, insecurities, frustrations with yourself, worries, fears, disappointments, wounds, brokenness, neuroses, regrets, struggles... they are a part of you right now. Join the club. We all have them. I give you permission to be okay with yourself - all of you - as you are right now - the you that doesn't have it all figured out, fixed up, and put back together. You have permission today to see the totality of yourself without judgment, and permission to extend compassion to yourself and your perceived inadequacies and shortcomings. I give you permission to accept yourself, to be patient and kind with yourself. You are permitted to stop judging yourself, berating yourself, hating yourself and finding ways that you tell yourself you are flawed, deficient, inadequate and don't measure up. You have permission to like yourself, have positive and high regard for yourself, and to love the 'you'... that 'you' are right now. Yes, I know, we all desire transformation. Yes, you want to be more whole and free. AND it's okay to be where and who you are today. It's okay to look at yourself with eyes of love and acceptance, not judgement and disapproval. You are worthy and deserving of love, acceptance and belonging just the way you are. You are worthy and deserving of your own acceptance, compassion and love. There are no qualifications or conditions you must meet to qualify for or earn these. Rather than accusing yourself about how far you still have to go, what about acknowledging yourself for how far you've already come. In case you need it, I give you permission to be okay with yourself... all of you... as you are today. Of course you don't need me to give you this permission. You can give it to yourself. But sometimes it helps to hear it from another human being just like you. We accept the love we think we deserve. First and foremost, you deserve and are worthy of your own love. I just want you to know that you’re very special and I’m telling you this because I don’t know if anyone else ever has. Jim Palmer

07.01.2022 Like a child gathering sea shells on the shore I head to the bush to gather my thoughts To pause and reflect To walk amongst my brother trees To feel the conne...ction with mother earth To slow down to hear the still small voice of the one who speaks to my heart strengthens my soul And when my journeys done I carry my little gleanings back home These little treasures These souvenirs Of a moment treasured When heaven kissed the earth And I I was there. 01.01.2022 The pain of wearing masks with glasses! How to stop them fogging up The battle to see The frustration of hampered vision A 2020 phenomenon... Today as I began my walk a still small voice whispered in my ear "Take them off, you'll see better" How bizzare! Seeing better without my glasses?? "Yes, sometimes you need to remove the lenses you look thru in order to really see." And, I saw... When stripped of the things we hold so tightly When willing to recognize and embrace our own vulnerabilities and let go When willing to Give up control and Be power-less. Then, and only then Are all our senses awakened and We are open to deep seeing.
