25.01.2022 Let us utilise more fully the language of Trinity. One God whose intrinsic being is relational, generative, communal and self-giving. Creator God, whose incomprehensibly abundant love pours out as time and space and matter in an evolving story of power and complexity and beauty and wonder, of which we are a tiny fragment with the extraordinary capacity to reflect and praise.
24.01.2022 One woman’s desire to help those in need and honour her family’s legacy has led to hundreds of thousands of seafarers being helped for over a century in our Diocese by Mission to Seafarers Brisbane. #missiontoseafaers #australiananglicans #anglicanchurch #seafarers
23.01.2022 Sunday Devotion: Today's devotion was written by Elissa Cotroneo from Community of The Way, St Francis College and St Bartholomew's Anglican Church Mount Gravatt, and is titled ‘Staying humble in the age of social media': "Jesus’ humility was shown in him becoming human and experiencing everything we do, while being patient, meek, giving and selfless. If we value humility, we acknowledge that there are needs greater than our own." #Pray #Bible #australiananglican #anglicanchurch
23.01.2022 The wonderfully simple, charitable act of welcome of a door being opened and a person being ushered in remains a powerful act of generosity. What's on offer isn't membership, but belonging, and that's what community is: having your own sense of place and time and participating in it. Being a part of things, not apart from things.
22.01.2022 Bollywood comes to Ramingining. Jinu Mathew performed at Ramingining Festival last night with school students who she ran workshops with during the week as part of the festival sponsored by ALPA and East Arnhem Regional Council. Great to see everyone getting down Bollywood style!

19.01.2022 I wholeheartedly recommend the use of ABM's Climate for Change to anglican focus readers. It utilises excellent scholarship and resources to help us to gain a balanced opinion on the effects of climate change, the human role in the change, and ways we can act to reverse damage to the climate, says The Rev’d Kaye Pitman OAM. #SeasonOfCreation #SeasonOfCreation2020 #AustralianAnglicans #Anglican

18.01.2022 85 per cent of young Australians live in their family home until they are 21 or older. This highlights the need to extend out-of-home care support for young ...people to the age of 21. This would mean giving all young Queenslanders in state care the option of continuing to stay in their ongoing foster care, kinship care or residential care arrangements until they turn 21. #Makeit21 Read more: https://bit.ly/31P7XPm See more

14.01.2022 I use art as a healing tool through stories of the ways of our old people. Not only does it help me to heal, but it helps others through my work as a youth wor...ker and Mental Health worker in the community Alara says. Alara is a valuable part of our Youth Program at Logan. He’s recently moved into a role as a Cultural Support Worker and is passionate about helping young people stay connected and learn more about their Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander country and origins. Alara is a talented artist and we’re so proud of his artwork that was used on the NRL Cronulla Shark’s special edition Indigenous round jersey. Read more about the meaning behind the artwork: https://bit.ly/3kBC3xb Congratulations Alara, we’re so proud of your achievements and your work with the young people in our services.
14.01.2022 My chaplaincy ministry is not always eventful, but it is always meaningful. In chaplaincy roles there are often big stories to tell and I have my own share of these But chaplaincy isn’t always about the ‘eventful’, says Royal Australian Air Force and St John's Wishart community chaplain, Michelle Philp. #AustralianAnglican #RAAF #Anglican #Chaplaincy
14.01.2022 Sunday Devotion: Today's devotion was written by St Aidan's Anglican Girls' School students Olivia Gabauer and Taya Kesby, with the support of their chaplain The Rev’d Gillian Moses: "Because Christ has made us his own, we know that God’s love carries us through the hardship and despair of the unknown future, especially as Year 12 students wondering what the world holds for us after we graduate." #Prayer #Bible #OnlineChurch #AustralianAnglicans
14.01.2022 This is a story about some of the world’s most important cells. Their code name is ‘HeLa’ and for several decades now they have been bought, sold, packaged and shipped by the trillions to laboratories around the world. It is a fascinating story and it would be an injustice not to tell the tale of Henrietta Lacks the woman who ‘owned’ the groundbreaking HeLa cells, says The Rev’d Dr Imelda O’Loughlin. #HeLa #Science #Anglican #AustralianAnglicans
13.01.2022 Archbishop Phillip Aspinall leads our community in Morning Prayer today and pays tribute to early Church scholar, priest, hermit and 'character', St Jerome. #Anglican #Prayer #bible
13.01.2022 Our op shop is more than a shop. It is a ministry a warm and welcoming space where people know that they come for a chat every weekday, say All Saints' Anglican Church, Chermside op shop coordinators Jan Donkersloot and Anthea Meadows, who also offer valuable tips for starting and running a church op shop. #chermside #opshop #anglicanchurch

12.01.2022 An Anglicare Southern Queensland program which aims to support fathers in Western Queensland has taken off, with a second group now formed. 'Fathers with Futures' has been running for around a year, stopping briefly due to COVID-19 before resuming in Term 3. The group came about after Anglicare Southern Queensland identified a lack of support services for dads in the region. #westernqueensland #romaqueensland #anglicanchurch #dads

09.01.2022 "I know for my family, doing church at home this year really made me ‘step up to the plate’ regarding my children's spiritual development like never before. Knowing they didn't have youth group and children's church meeting, I realised it was up to my husband and me to shepherd and train our children in the way they should go, says Penny Howchin from Resource Church St Andrew's Springfield. #childrensministry #australiananglicans #anglicanchurch
07.01.2022 What happens when you support an ABM Emergency Appeal? A big thank you to ABM’s generous supporters who gave over $150,000 to our emergency appeals between 2017... and 2019. The appeals included responses to conflict in Myanmar in which Rohingya were displaced or forced to flee into neighbouring Bangladesh, an earthquake in Papua New Guinea, an upsurge of violent conflict in the Gaza Strip, people fleeing volcanic eruptions in Vanuatu, a typhoon in the Philippines, and an earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia. Your funds contributed to building temporary houses for displaced families in Myanmar, new rainwater tanks for people in an earthquake-affected area near Mendi in Papua New Guinea, medicines and medical supplies for people injured in hostilities in Gaza, emergency relief and trauma counselling for people displaced by volcanic activity in Vanuatu, loan funds for families to rebuild their houses destroyed by typhoon in the Philippines, and relief supplies, fresh water and medical supplies for victims of the Sulawesi earthquake and tsunami.
