25.01.2022 It's on again! The Annual Cup Weekend Produce Stall. Cakes, jams, pickles, plants and a super hamper for raffle. Find us outside Foodworks from 9am on Saturday November 3rd. Come for the weekend, join us for worship at 10am on the Sunday and take in the Marysville Art Show while you're here.

23.01.2022 Autumn in Marysville. The seasons move on despite the Coronavirus. But sadly the churches across Victoria are closed for worship for the foreseeable future. Here in Marysville and Buxton we are maintaining contact via email with support in private worship by the vicar. People are encouraged to watch livestreamed or recorded services available on the websites of St Paul's Cathedral Melbourne or Christ Church St Laurence Sydney. Stay well. Our prayers are with those suffering for any reason through this difficult time.

22.01.2022 Tomorrow marks the 10th anniversary of the devastating 2009 bushfires that wiped out Marysville and destroyed our beautiful original church building. The people of Marysville owe a huge debt of gratitude to all those who helped the community and our church group to recover from that ordeal.

19.01.2022 It's been a cold winter but spring is here and the sun is shining. We will soon be restarting our Labyrinth project which was put on hold due to the wet weather. Also we are pleased to announce that on Saturday October 19th Christ Church Marysville will be hosting and afternoon of gentle jazz as part of the Marysville Jazz and Blues weekend . Details to follow.

19.01.2022 Today we had the opening and blessing of the Marysville labyrinth. We look forward to people visiting, walking and enjoying this special place.

19.01.2022 We are open again! It is so good to be worshipping together again. But there are restrictions. There will be a weekly service of 30 minutes duration each Sunday at Christ Church Marysville, with St Thomas' Buxton remaining closed at this stage. We are currently restricted to 10 people but this may change in the next few weeks. We would love people in the local area, or visitors from further afield, to join us, but because of the restricted numbers, we ask that you please contact the vicar on 03 5774 7655 before coming. Also, it is important that, if you have been unwell, or currently have flu-like symptoms, you stay away. We hope you are keeping well and connected during this difficult time.

18.01.2022 Christmas is nearly here and there will be services at St Thomas' Buxton and Christ Church Marysville from Sunday December 23rd through to Christmas Day as well as carols in the park in Marysville.. Watch this space for details

18.01.2022 Recently Ed and Diana from this parish visited Santa Theresa Mission and the Anglican Church in Alice Springs. The parish supports their work with the prison and a Women's Refuge. They delivered toiletry bags and clothing and were pleased to be able to see where our donations end up and meet the people involved. Other items that have been sent and appreciated in the past are art equipment and materials, rugs and blankets. The parish continues to collect and send these things to help meet the ongoing need.

16.01.2022 Yesterday was labyrinth building day! 15 people from the church and the wider community came together to create our labyrinth. The rain held off, the weather was mild and a great morning was had by all. In the next couple of weeks signs, seating and plants will be added. An official opening and blessing of the labyrinth will take place on Sunday 15th December at 11.15, after the morning service, followed by morning tea. All welcome. The labyrinth is accessible 24/7 via the church driveway and information will be available about how to use it. When you are in Marysville be sure to check it out.

13.01.2022 A Labyrinth for Marysville. The parishioners of Marysville and Buxton are embarking on a project to create a labyrinth in a beautiful, natural space next to Christ Church, bordered by eucalypts and tree ferns. Work will start soon on leveling the ground and laying toppings, then the labyrinth will be formed using locally sourced river rocks. It will be a space for reflection and meditation for use by the whole community and visitors to Marysville. Be sure to come and see it if you are in the area.

11.01.2022 We were delighted to welcome Year 9 students from Yarra Valley Grammar School this week as they completed some of their retreat activities at Christ Church under the guidance of their chaplain, Rev Paul Joy.

07.01.2022 Marysville and Buxton are bringing Christmas to the community this year with 2 lovely nativity artworks displayed in front of our two churches. At St Thomas' Buxton parishioner Beth Page has created a scene depicting the Wise Men travelling to Bethlehem while in front of Christ Church Marysville is a life-size image of Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus painted by Meryll Crabtree an artist from Yarra Glen. This mural is floodlit at night as part of a community project to light up Marysville for Christmas.

06.01.2022 Getting ready for our contribution to the Marysville Jazz and Blues weekend 18-20th October. We have three artists performing on the Saturday afternoon - Jules from Euroa area guitar/vocal at 1pm, Marysville's own Daryl Hull on keyboard at 2pm and Bev and Leigh Fraser, well known locals, singing with guitar at 3pm. Entry free and we will be offering afternoon tea for a gold coin donation, with proceeds to the charities we support as a parish. For the whole J&B program go to www.marysvillejazzandblues.com. 06.01.2022 Beautiful rocks from our labyrinth. For anyone outside the metropolitan area and Mitchell shire, the labyrinth is unaffected by Covid restrictions. We are also continuing to hold Sunday services each Sunday at 10am at Christ Church. All welcome but check with the vicar before attending due to limited numbers. For anyone reading this in the locked down areas, we are thinking of you. Stay strong.

04.01.2022 Wednesday Services. After a short break over the holiday period worship, followed by Bible Study, has recommenced and will take place at 10am at Christ Church on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month. All welcome.

01.01.2022 ONE YEAR OLD ON 18TH NOVEMBER Sunday week, 18th November, marks the first anniversary of the consecration of the new Christ Church. On that day at 10 am we will be celebrating the feast of Christ the King (a week earlier than it should be). We would love to see you there.

We have joined with faith communities around Australia by tolling the bell on Christ Church every Friday at noon until Universal Childrens' Day (Nov 20th). One toll for each child (52 as at 22nd October). the Refugebell Campaign is an initiative of Rural Australians for Refugees. Come and help us ring the bell.
