25.01.2022 35 years ago this month, the United States Supreme Court ruled that it was indeed legal to use VHS and Betamax units to record live TV. Movie studios were not impressed, before realising they could sell pre-recorded tapes to consumers, creating the multi-billion dollar home video industry.
