24.01.2022 What a big day it is in Australia today. The first day of Spring A.N.D National Wattle Day. September 1st, we have waited for you these past wintery months as a beacon of light and the pathway to warmth! Look out for the opening of flowers and bees in the air. To our fellow Melburnians, you have made it. Winter is done and dusted for another year! As we move closer to the end of this dreaded lock down, look out for the wattles that surround you and be energised by their y...ellow-ey lights. There are about 1350 species of Acacia in the world, and nearly 1000 of these are found in Australia. Hmm, we are feeling that is pretty special. Happy Spring lovely people. 21.01.2022 Our Folia Plant pot in crisp white matches such a huge variety of foliage tones. This one is featuring a young Philodendron Selloum, its leaves still maturing. These plants are pretty hardy and low maintenance, so ideal for beginners and they grow well in pots. Folia pots have a generous planting volume and a nice deep drip tray. Loving the fresh greens captured by @no_garden_ These new leaves are soon to be a deep, rich shade of green. We are never surprised the Stephania has taken social media by storm, its taken us along with it!
20.01.2022 The Pod Pourer plant pots feature a unique drainage system that does away with the need for a drip tray and avoids under- and over-watering. The spout with timber stopper allows you to drain water without any mess. This one is featuring a Staghorn which are such an under-used plant for pots. 17.01.2022 The first time we ever came across a 'Monkey Tree' AKA Allaudia Procera, it was love at first sight. We used one of these glorious plants in our very first photoshoot of our hanging planters, (so a little extra sentimental value there!) When planted in the ground, these can grow as tall as 15 metres. So while our humble potted versions are more modest in their size, they are quite the opposite in their unique appearance! We have learnt in our time of caring for these that they are in fact a deciduous tree, so don't panic like we did, when our first one lost it's leaves. This one is potted into our 'Pourer Pod' with the hand painted grey lines. Consider this a recommendation, Monkey Trees are an amazing addition to any plant collection.

16.01.2022 We have always been fond of Kalanchoe plants at Angus & Celeste. So many varieties to get excited about. We have always found them best grown outside if you want to be rewarded with a constant stream of regular flowers. This one here is a Kalanchoe Daigremontiana, it has some really cool common names mother of thousands and alligator to name a few. This one is captured so beautifully by @hortusamsterdam our current botanical oasis to dream about during lockdown. The Hortus in Amsterdam is one of the oldest botanic gardens in Europe. Hope this fine Saturday gives you some time with your plants or in your garden. For Melbourne folks, enjoy the balmy temps on the forecast!
16.01.2022 Every now and then an image stops you in your tracks. Is it the summery light here, the thought of riding free on this bicycle, or is it the botanical wonderland in the background. Hmm, what do you guys think? What a scene by @_mrcardigan_ a plant house in Hong Kong. These guys even host workshops on organic gardening, ok who is coming with us for an adventure?!

Love that these are often called the pass it on plant we have certainly passed on a few of these ourselves! Feeling these macrame planters are really making these Pileas shine here. 12.01.2022 Our small sized Gro Pots are perfect for succulents and cactus. We have a row of these on our window sill- looking sensational, if we might say so! These little succulents are called Crassula or Buddhas Temple their unique upward facing, almost "stacked" leaves resemble a Chinese temple. Loving the geometric patterns from above.

07.01.2022 Our carnivorous plant journey has only just begun at A&C. We are quickly discovering how truly remarkable these species are! They seem almost magical. This 'carnivorous pitcher plant' looks brilliant and can also eat flying insects such wasps, flies and moths! What an all-rounder! It's easy to get carried away reading up about these mystical plants - we sure have The milky glaze of our new Milkwash Planter is the perfect match for these colourful fly and wasp eaters.

05.01.2022 The Dischidia ovata is a superb trailing plant for hanging planters and plant pots, they are known for their watermelon like leaves. This one here is the picture of health in our Sandstone plant pot. In caring for these beautiful plants, its super important to not over water if you are not in a tropical zone. Leave to be completely DRY in-between waterings.

03.01.2022 So many of you know how excited we get over Nepenthes at A&C, a variety of carnivorous plant. A majority of Nepenthes are easily grown as houseplants! They are so worth a try if you do not have one in your collection. Not to brag, but the A&C Nepenthes pitchers are currently looking this flamboyant and colourful! Tiny dots all over the traps, rich burgundy colours against the striking lime green. Simple styling here with our classic white hanging bowl.
