06.01.2022 Sam, our Secretary from Northern Metro, did a participated in a local clean up event on the weekend and flew the flag for AJP. "Just letting you know that we went along to our local Clean Up Australia event on Saturday and had such a great time! We'll definitely go again. The organisers, Rachel & Sandy are lovely! They run a clean up event every couple of months and anyone who takes part gets a free coffee afterwards at St Derby Cafe in Pascoe Vale. I spoke to Rachel a fair bit... she hadn't heard of the AJP but she definitely knows about us now! 04.01.2022 BREAKING: NSW TO END THE USE OF DOLPHINS FOR ENTERTAINMENT. New regulations will effectively stop any future dolphin ‘abuse-ment’ park from setting up in NSW an...d end the breeding of dolphins, whales and porpoises for entertainment. WE DID IT! No more dolphins will be born into an industry with backyard pools, or be forced to do circus-style tricks. With these regulations introduced by Minister Matt Kean MP, the abuse of dolphins in so-called entertainment is coming to an end in NSW. These changes were urgently needed to ensure no more animals are born into this collapsing industry. A dolphin born today could live for up to 50 years, meaning they could still be in a dolphinarium in 2070. The writing is on the wall these animals were not born to perform. They do not exist for our entertainment. They deserve a life worth living, and NSW has recognised this with these new regulations. Queensland is now the only state in Australia still breeding dolphins for entertainment and it’s a global embarrassment. The AJP will be working to get similar Regulations passed in QLD- time to #EmptyTheTanks Australia-wide
