15.01.2022 Have you considered your Transition Cow Management Transition Cow Management is seen as one of the most significant advances in dairy nutrition over the last 20 years. Transition cow Management gives the farmer an opportunity to improve their herds cow health, milk production and performance. A transitional diet should cover Energy, Protein, Fibre, Calcium, Magnesium, Phosphorous, Trace Elements and a negative DCAD (Dietary Cation- Anion Difference) value of the DCAD in ...the total diet. Leed feeding cows refers to the transition period from a dry pregnant cow to a lactating cow. In an effort to minimise milk fever and other post calving disorders, anionic salts of calcium and magnesium are fed prior to calving. Feeding these mineral salts creates a mild metabolic acidosis response, and in the process calcium is mobilised from the cow’s mineral reserves (Bones). What are the benefits of using AMS Leed Feed A blend of strong anionic salts Calcium and magnesium sources The full daily requirement of trace mircominerals High levels of vitamin E for Immune Response Highly available vitamin D supplement (HYD) for maximum calcium mobilisation Rumensin for improved energy utilisation and rumen stability Flavourings for maximum palatability Why use AMS Leed Feed Feeding AMS Leed Feed is specifically designed to help prevent milk fever and prepare the cow for the coming lactation. The release of skeletal calcium along with calcium supplied in AMS Leed Feed enables the cow to keep her calcium levels high at calving and minimise milk fever. The increased available calcium pool ensures good muscle function (ease of calving) and allows cows to reach peak yields sooner. What are the main protein and grain sources in AMS Leed Feed The protein in AMS Leed Feed is in the form of canola meal which stimulates appetite and maintains tissue protein reserves, which are often lost just prior to calving though lack of appetite. The grain in AMS Leed Feed (wheat & barley) conditions the rumen to concentrate on feeding in the dairy and allows additional energy to be added to the springing cows ration at a time of reducing intakes. AMS Leed Feed is also blended into a convenient grain mix containing Get Set Cow pellets (anionic salts and canola meal) to improve palatability and reduce wastage. AMS Get Set Pellets is a convenient blend of anionic salts in a pellet form with low DCAD. AMS Get Set Pellets should be blended with 2-2.5kg of rolled grain and fed for 14 to 18 days prior to calving. Give Animal Mineral Solutions a call today on 03 5831 2176 to discuss your Leed Feeding requirements, or check out our website for our range of Transition Dairy Minerals. http://www.animalmineralsolutions.com.au/products

03.01.2022 Are you in the midst of drying off your dairy herd? The dry period for a dairy cow is an important phase of her lactation cycle in setting her up for the next lactation. Nutrition during the dry period is important for maintaining body condition score and mineral replenishment. With the length of dry period typically lasting 60 days, it's important to not only consider diets that contain lower energy and adequate amounts of fibre, it is also important to consider your herds ...mineral intake. Dairy lick is a natural way to provide minerals to your dry stock; it contains the essential macro minerals, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium, to meet the gap in mineral nutrition between dry off and calving. Dairy Lick also supports the growth and development of calves and yearlings. Dairy Lick also contains the micro minerals, Zinc,Copper, Cobalt, Selenium, Manganese and Iodine and the vitamins A, D and E and Biotin for hoof development and strength. If you haven't tried this with your dry stock yet give us a call or visit our website https://www.animalmineralsolutions.com.au/products $22 + GST (20kg) bag
