24.01.2022 Day 11 of mural painting today. I expect to finish on Tuesday (Day 13). The building will house the extensive doll collection of Aunty Joan Stewart, and is being built by her kids as a not-for-profit exhibition and event space in her memory. How fitting to spend Mother’s Day on such a worthwhile project, that honours a much-loved mum. #esperance

16.01.2022 Excuse the delirious babbling it’s all a bit surreal that after 14 days I am finally done painting Aunty Joan’s Dolly Mix in #Esperance WA. Wooooo!!!! I’m painting the full face of this museum with a brief: Victorian dollhouse with Australian botanicals, in a Trompe l'oeil style. (Every so often I’m allowed to bust loose with an on-the-fly expression of COLOUR and MOVEMENT too, so of course I’m happy!) . #Esperance

04.01.2022 This makes my heart happy. A street in East Vic Park (close to where I now live), came up with a new event. It’s called Sculptures By The Street. Families made these gorgeous sculptures and displayed them in their driveways and on their verges, and invited locals to come and look. My daughter and I walked there, and had a lovely time of it the home owners were all sitting on their porches and having socially-distant-appropriate chats with all the passers-by. It was so frickin-adorably-cute I was moved to tears a couple of times. I hope it becomes an annual event. #EastVictoriaPark

01.01.2022 The advantage of semi-transparent paint? It creates amazing dances with the layers underneath. The disadvantage? Takes 3x longer to get solid coverage as a colour on its own Sooooo we’re adding another day to the project!!!! This is Day 13.
