24.01.2022 Athlete's foot is a common fungal infection of the feet, often occurring in people whose feet have become very sweaty while confined in tight-fitting shoes The fungus presents as a flaky rash between the toes or on the soles of the feet that can cause itching, stinging, burning and cracked skin Tinea infections respond well to antifungal creams, but if you have skin that is not responding to regular application of cream, come and see us - we are trained to diagnose and effectively treat Athlete’s Foot via a range of different treatments

16.01.2022 Are your feet paying the price after the Melbourne Cup today?! Here's some top-tips for avoiding a high-heel hangover: Pop a tennis ball on the ground and roll the ball around the arch of the foot, to relieve pain and tightness Place ice packs on your feet and keep them raised to help reduce swelling Try a magnesium foot bath or magnesium oil Use a foot massager, or bribe your kids into giving them a gentle rub ... If aching feet persist, it might be time to visit one of our podiatrists! Fabulous-Femme

14.01.2022 Meet Miss Z!! This gorgeous 5 year old came to us after her Mum saw our post a few months back which talked about growing pains. For several months Miss Z had been waking every other night with leg pain Our assessment showed that the muscles in her legs were abnormally tight. Although this is a common finding in active and growing bodies it should not be accepted as normal if ignored, it can put undue stress on muscles and joints. Miss Z’s foot structure was also causing her to roll in or ‘pronate’ significantly putting additional stress on her muscles We are pleased to say that with some kid friendly stretches, funky rainbow kids orthotics and footwear advice, Miss Z had immediate pain relief and is now enjoying a good night sleep every night!

12.01.2022 Have you considered shockwave therapy for your foot or ankle pain? Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment which uses a hand-held probe to deliver acoustic waves into the soft tissue. It stimulates collagen production and increases blood flow to the area which accelerates healing. Other benefits include reduction of inflammation and calcification, interruption to your pain cycle and relaxation of trigger points resulting in improved range of motion We've used shockwave therapy at A&F for many years with great results This could be a beneficial part of your treatment plan too! Contact us today to book a consultation, and put your feet in good hands (08) 9965 4331

11.01.2022 Gait Analysis is a biomechanical assessment of the way you walk, to gain an understanding of how your body moves, and the effect this can have on your feet, hips, lower back and legs The assessment can reveal if there are any areas that need improvement for performance, or imbalances which are causing recurring pain and let us formulate a personalised treatment plan Give our friendly team a call, or book online, to discuss whether a gait analysis could be beneficial to you (08) 9965 4331
