25.01.2022 The under 10s and under 12’s will not be playing tomorrow due to a lack of players being in town.

20.01.2022 Game Day Tomorrow! Our two under 9’s teams are having a league competition game at Perry Park against each other at 9am. The teams are not sorted fully so please turn up at 8:30am so we can get organised. This game is an 1 Hour game. There will be an opportunity for a few players to have a run in the second game with the Under 10s.... Our Under 10’s and under 12’s both have a bye and will play each other in a warm up game starting at 10:30am, also at Perry Park. Again the teams are not sorted fully so please turn up at 10am so we can get organised.

20.01.2022 Here is a great shot of the team in the new tops. (thanks Robert H) Pretty sharp!!

19.01.2022 One game to go for 2015 Pirates!

18.01.2022 To everyone who knew our dear husband, father, Pirates President and friend Gary Fishburn, it is with great sadness, that Kieran Flanagan and Darcy want you to know you that Gary passed away in his sleep in the early hours of Saturday morning having been diagnosed with cancer at the end of last year. Though his family and friends are understandably upset, we are also incredibly grateful to have had such a wonderful human in our lives. In his final days, we were able to take ...Gary to the Royal Easter show, something he and Darcy looked forward to every year. Sitting on his mobility scooter he cranked up the speed and grinned like a naughty school boy - it was a very Gary moment. Gary’s funeral will be held at Eastern Suburbs Crematorium, South Chapel on Tuesday April 30th at 2:00pm. For more information, or to share a message or a memory with Gary’s family and friends, please email Dan Gregory [email protected] See more

18.01.2022 What a perfect day to play some baseball! Thanks to all those who came along for Registration Day today. It was a great afternoon!

18.01.2022 The Blackguards were soundly beaten 17 to 1 last week but don't be fooled by the score they equipped themselves very capably. In two of the innings I watched they had the opposition against the ropes 2 out with 1 or 2 home when a simple misfield or home run made the score blow out. We had players left on base every inning and had it not been for a luck catch by our opposition in the first inning we would have 3 more home with only two outs. That said Baseball is a game where you make your own luck and as soon as the Blackguards realise that they will be unbeatable.

17.01.2022 Although we are yet to see our full contingent I believe that we have our best group yet. Thank you to the parents who seem to simply step up and help wherever the see the need or ask how they can help. It is much appreciated. Most of our strongest players returned from last season and were bolstered by some very strong additions and I believe that we will be in great shape if we can just collect a couple of extra players, Particularly in our under 10's. On the 10th September...Continue reading

15.01.2022 Last week the Blackguards [pron: Blag-ahrds] had to forfeit due to insufficient players but with Flynn joining in had a friendly game anyway. I am sure that Coach Chris and all the players are very proud of their performance. Defensively all players contributed well; Dan caught excellently all game and surprised me when I found out it was not his usual position, Ajay stopped a screamer and was close to catching the batter, Nick and Adam stopped anything that came close to th...em and Molly surprised me by linking up with many other players and fearlessly caught any ball that near her. Saxon didn't see much fielding action and Flynn was on his game. Offensively Flynn lead the way with a home run to tie the scores at 1 each in the early innings. A few batters made hits but were left on base with no hits coming when needed most. In the last inning Saxon got the ball rolling with a line drive towards 3rd getting to first easily. This was followed by Flynn who hit a double with Saxon running aggressively to get to third when Dan stepped up to the plate again. Dan hit a powerful line drive passed 2nd to score two RBI's for the team with his third hit of the game. Subsequently Dan was left on base for the third time in the game but not before he had hit home two batter giving the Blackguards the win 3 - 1. I know that this team has come close to winning on many occasions. I hope this will be the start of the luck changing and stringing a few wins together. Well done Blackguards and Coach Chris. 14.01.2022 Here is a great shot of the team in the new tops. (thanks Robert H) Pretty sharp!!

14.01.2022 The under 8’s play against each other at Perry Park (our Home ground ) at 11 am this Saturday. I have spoken to a couple of the parents (Jason and Max) who will organise the teams and Maka (the under 12’s coach) will umpire. I hope that some of the other parents can just step up as they usually do and assist with base coaching and batting order. If the teams are not even in number due to holidays just swap the players around. There will be a BBQ after the game to celebrate Christmas. All welcome. Please bring your own food (we can’t cater as we don’t know who is coming).

14.01.2022 A reminder that this Saturday, starting at 10am (for 2 hours) at Perry Park is our presentation day and I hope that as many of you as possible can make it. I hope to get some photos for the Facebook page and our website (soon to be constructed). So I will bring the new tops along so we all look the part. This will be the under 12’s first wear. We will be presenting a framed top to our sponsor, Gunnings Real Estate and the more players we have in the photo the better. Weathe...r permitting we will start with a treasure hunt with cane booty in a treasure chest (if the crew can find it) and then have the trophy presentation. We have plenty of plans next year not least of all being a senior team, and I will give you a quick run down on the day. If the weather is unfavourable we will simply present the trophies in one of the change rooms. Please bring drinks and a party plate for the occasion. I believe that we had a fantastic season and hope we can cap it off in a fitting manner. See you Saturday!
