11.01.2022 Have a COVID safe Halloween this year and follow the advice from NSW Health if you plan on participating. Make it a front-yard event, not at the front-door o...f your house. Keep your celebrations outdoors and get creative in decorating the front yard Only hand out individually wrapped treats Don’t use communal lolly bowls. Consider other ways of distributing treats such as hanging them individually on your fence, front gate or up your driveway Offer hand sanitiser at your front gate or fence Use a disposable bag to collect your treats, and dispose of it appropriately afterwards Stay 1.5 metres away from people you don’t live with For more COVID safe tips, visit https://www.health.nsw.gov.au//covid-19/Pages/halloween-ad See more

02.01.2022 WEATHER WARNING Severe Weather Warning for HEAVY RAINFALL and ABNORMALLY HIGH TIDES For people in parts of Northern Rivers and Mid North Coast Forecast D...istricts. Issued at 4:53 pm Tuesday, 15 December 2020. HEAVY RAIN CONTINUING FOR THE MID NORTH COAST A trough over the northern New South Wales coast continues to bring heavy rain to the region. Rainfall rates are expected to ease later tonight or early Wednesday as the trough weakens and extends south. HEAVY RAINFALL is likely across the Mid North Coast. Rainfall rates are expected to ease overnight. However, showers and thunderstorms will persist for the coming days and will continue to bring the risk of flash flooding. Rainfall rates could be locally enhanced with thunderstorms, leading to the possibility of very heavy rainfall and dangerous flash flooding. This risk continues along the coastal fringe of the Northern Rivers and Mid North Coast overnight tonight. Wednesday morning's high tide (around 10-10:30am) may exacerbate any further river rises for low lying coastal areas, resulting in localised inundation. Flood Warnings have been issued for the Tweed, Wilsons, Bellinger and Kalang, Macleay, Hastings, Orara, Nambucca and Richmond Rivers. A Flood Watch remains in place for the remaining river catchments along the Mid North Coast and Northern Rivers. A Hazardous Surf Warning is also current for much of the New South Wales coast. Severe Thunderstorm Warnings may also be issued. Locations which may be affected include Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Byron Bay, Ballina, Yamba, Maclean, Woolgoolga, Sawtell and Dorrigo.
