23.01.2022 BREAKING: The Palaszczuk Government will commit $755 million to build the second M1 linking Coomera and Nerang Construction will begin within 12 months, supporting more than 700 jobs. Once completed, the 16.1km motorway will divert up to 60,000 vehicles off the M1 at its busiest section around the Coomera River every day, making the commute quicker and safer.... This project is the centrepiece of the Palaszczuk Governments $830 million Gold Coast roads infrastructure and jobs package. Up to 50 people can gather in homes and public spaces across Queensland Person limits in indoor premises will increase from 1 person per 4 square metres to 1 person per 2 square metres Up to 200 people can attend weddings and funerals, and all guests can dance at weddings, both indoors and outdoors Seated, ticketed indoor events like theatre, live music, cinemas and sports can increase patron numbers from 50% to 100% Outdoor events can have up to 1,500 people attend with a COVID Safe Event Checklist. 12.01.2022 Last year we invested in a drone testing facility at Cloncurry Airport in Queensland’s North West. The centre just hosted its first test flights by aerospace giant The Boeing Company. Boeing completed flights using five high performance surrogate jets operating autonomously in a team.... The tests involved the use of artificial intelligence to teach an aircraft how to communicate and understand what was required of it to achieve a mission. During 10 days of testing, the aircraft reached speeds of 270km per hour. It’s an exciting project that we’re thrilled to see happening in Queensland. Unmanned aerial technology is the future and we want Queensland to lead the way.

11.01.2022 BREAKING: The lockdown ends at 6pm tonight, but some precautions will remain in Greater Brisbane for 10 days until 1am on Friday, 22 January. You must carry a mask at all times. Masks must be worn in indoor places including shopping centres and supermarkets, gyms, places of worship, libraries, public transport, and taxis and rideshare vehicles. Masks must be worn in workplaces if social distancing isn’t possible and it’s safe to do so.... You don’t need to wear a mask in private vehicles, while outdoors at a safe distance from other people or if you’re outside doing strenuous exercise. Businesses and venues can have one person per 4m indoors and one person per 2m outdoors. Smaller venues up to 200m can have one person per 2m up to a maximum of 50. You must be seated to eat and drink, and no dancing is allowed except at weddings. Gatherings are restricted to 20 people in homes and public spaces. Weddings and funerals can have up to 100 people, and dancing is allowed at weddings without restrictions. Indoor concert venues and theatres can operate at 50% capacity or one person per four square metres, whichever is greater. Outdoor stadiums can operate at 50% capacity with COVID-safe plans. 09.01.2022 Backing Queensland agriculture is a crucial part of our plan for economic recovery. Under Queenslands economic recovery plan, weve committed an additional $5 million for more cluster fencing in drought-affected areas of Queensland. Weve already built protective fencing around hundreds of western Queensland sheep properties, which has seen lambing rates nearly double.... This additional funding will boost our total investment for wild dog fencing and responding to feral pests to $25 million and a staggering 9,000km of fencing creating jobs for Queenslanders and giving drought-stricken farmers a helping hand.

Thats why were backing local manufacturers as a part of Queenslands plan for economic recovery. Were providing targeted support to help manufacturers diversify, expand, and employ more Queenslanders.... Were also helping Queensland companies to manufacture the PPE we need to keep our frontline workers safe. The Queensland Government has set a target to buy 25% of PPE from Queensland manufacturers, and were setting up a new PPE testing facility at Meadowbrook. And this week, Brisbane-based Aspen Medical announced that they would ramp up production from two million masks a month to four million masks a month thanks to support from the Palaszczuk Government. Thats not only instrumental in fighting coronavirus its also vital for our ongoing economic recovery.

08.01.2022 PLEASE SHARE: A Townsville woman has tested positive to COVID-19 in Melbourne after travelling through Cairns and Brisbane. It’s most likely she contracted COVID-19 while in Melbourne. However, Queensland Health contact tracers have asked a number of people who may have been in contact with the woman to quarantine themselves for 14 days and get tested. Contact tracing is continuing, and should locations of concern be identified Queensland Health will issue a public health al...ert. Cancer is a really tough situation for any child, but being in purpose-built facilities that help them feel like they have support can make a world of difference. The $20 million project was designed in close consultation with patients, families and staff to ensure the space is both fit for purpose clinically as well as child and family-friendly.... The ward will include an extra six oncology beds that will increase specialist oncology capacity by 25%.
