23.01.2022 It was so great yesterday for Brooke Prentis to share at The Meeting Place on her journey with creativity, in particular her love of and passion for poetry. It was powerful to hear her speak of the stories and process behind writing and performing this poem 'WE CAN'T BREATHE' speaking of Aboriginal Deaths in Custody. Here it is again if you missed it when it came out a few weeks ago...

11.01.2022 During these restricted times, ACAC has remained empty, quiet, still. In the coming months well slowly and thoughtfully re-enliven the space with creativity once more. But were not rushing. Considering one step at a time. Making sure people are safe. Picking up things as we can manage them. And asking ourselves important questions about what weve been learning from these times... What new stories will emerge from this blank page?... I can hear the sound of Possibility.... Helen

06.01.2022 This week we farewell Graeme Tutt as Senior Minister of Newtown Mission and thank Graeme for his significant contribution to developing ACAC into the amazing space and community that it is today. Were thankful for Graemes insight, leadership and care for people and for leading the church into opening up new ways of serving the community and seeing people and culture flourish in God-given creativity. Heres a few photos of Graemes time at ACAC, including hosting Creative C...onversations panels around asylum seeker policy, climate change, global inequality for women, global neighbouring and relationship with land. What a journey thats been in opening up important conversations between expert and artist and agitating social change. Check out the Newtown Mission Facebook page for other memories and tributes from Graemes time at Newtown Mission and the online farewell service from Sunday. See more
