25.01.2022 Came across this splendid advice this morning. We so often are goal orientated rather than strive to simply be congruent with ourselves. Love & Light to you. 'Before you ask for readers, write the article you wish you could read.' - James Clear

25.01.2022 When you know nothing about painting and you go to a live painting event for the sheer fun of it. I've had a desire to paint for quite some time. Now that I live in this artsy community I might go do something about it. #fun #art #painting #whynot #creative #putcolourinyourlife #brokenhillregionalartgallery #brokenhill #outbackaustralia #thisstorycalledlife @ Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery

22.01.2022 Thanks to James Clear, author of Atomic Habits, I came across this piece of wisdom. The scientist, astronomer, and author, Carl Sagan, on the magic of books: "What an astonishing thing a book is. It's a flat object made from a tree with flexible parts on which are imprinted lots of funny dark squiggles. But one glance at it and you're inside the mind of another person, maybe somebody dead for thousands of years. Across the millennia, an author is speaking clearly and sile...ntly inside your head, directly to you. Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions, binding together people who never knew each other, citizens of distant epochs. Books break the shackles of time. A book is proof that humans are capable of working magic." Source: Cosmos, Part 11: The Persistence of Memory

22.01.2022 Don't make art with the intention to make money, but to make your mind grow and your soul take flight.

22.01.2022 My musings about Fear in this week's Ripples in a Pond. Much love xxx https://annetteherd.com/ripples-in-a-pond/

21.01.2022 Ever felt the love shine through something seemingly mundane someone else did for you? If you have a minute, check out the latest Ripples in a Pond. https://annetteherd.com/ripples-in-a-pond/

19.01.2022 Have a laugh. Have a good day.

17.01.2022 Shane's comments echo with what I am feeling. There is great opportunity in being forced to be still. You need to go inwards to create, anyway. So to be removed from distraction can actually be a very positive thing.

16.01.2022 There's just something about a real book.

16.01.2022 The latest Ripples in a Pond post 'Moments of Sacredness' is live now. Thank you to you all who have read the previous ones, made such beautiful comments, or have even subscribed to it. I hope I can bring a moment of Light into your lives. Much love. xxx

14.01.2022 The blessings of modern technology. The world is shutting down. The world is opening up.

14.01.2022 Soon there will a dedicated creative space, a quiet corner in the house, a writing room just for me. Desktop and 31.5" monitor waiting, somewhat impatiently, to be set up and installed. It's been a long time coming. Let's see what is possible now. #writing #writersofinstagram #create #creativespace #novelwriting #novel #screenwriting #outbackcreative #hopesanddreams #brokenhill #outbackaustralia

13.01.2022 Waiting for American Song by Joanna Murray-Smith to start at the Theatre Royal, Australia's oldest operating theatre. What a gem! Feeling so very lucky to experience all this beauty. #theatreroyalhobart #hobart #tasmania #lovetasmania #lovemylife #thisstorycalledlife @ Theatre Royal (Hobart)

11.01.2022 My first film script. Filmed in 2018 in one 37 degree hot day. It came second at the Perfect Light Film Festival last year. Still buzzing. xxx

08.01.2022 When you grew up like me in post-war Germany with the shame of Hitler on your collective conscience, ANZAC Day always makes me think about the shared fate of the common soldier. Much love. xxx

07.01.2022 This is Bessie, our new family member. She is about 3 years old and a wolfhound cross. We picked her up from the animal shelter this afternoon. I have a feeling she is going to settle in well. #dogs #dogsofinstagram #rescuedog #rescuedogsofinstagram #beautifulgirl #joy #blessed #happiness #thisstorycalledlife @ Broken Hill, New South Wales

06.01.2022 Sometimes it's good to be reminded that you don't need to be perfect. You just need to give it a go. Now back to the grind.

05.01.2022 The second post went live this morning, Stacking Shelves.

05.01.2022 Summer in Tassie. Chilly night, very funny production, most enjoyable evening at the Hobart Royal Botanical Gardens. #asyoulikeit #shakespeare #hobartroyalbotanicalgardens #hobart #tasmania #summerintassie #thisstorycalledlife @ Hobart, Tasmania

05.01.2022 Feeling bereft now that I've finished those two books. What extraordinary stories! What powerful writing! I had the privilege of meeting @michaelrobotham last y...ear at Fiona McIntosh's Masterclass National Conference. Michael was the keynote speaker on day one, but decided to hang around for all three, and spoilt us with his generosity. Not just a superb crime writer, but also a genuinely nice guy. #michaelrobothamauthor #fionamcintosh #fionamcintoshnationalconference #crimewriter #crimewriting #suspense #writing #writersofinstagram #niceguy #generosity #fun #books #cantputitdown #greatreads #brokenhill #farwestproud #outbackaustralia @ Broken Hill, New South Wales

03.01.2022 I have combined my writer and my healer hats and invite you to check out my new blog 'Ripples in a Pond' on my website www.annetteherd.com to be uplifted with words to feed the soul. Love & Light.

03.01.2022 How wonderful is that? As events are getting cancelled I find myself with unexpected time on my hands. Not such a bad thing, really, when you are in the company of a good book. hope you are all keeping well.

02.01.2022 Quite a privilege to be the featured artist of the week.

02.01.2022 An interesting article in Limelight Magazine about the draw of the arts in tourism. https://www.limelightmagazine.com.au//the-arts-drive-dom/
