It’s been occupying a lot of my time, but I think you’ll see many improvements in the near future. Just because I’ve been busy with the other executives looking at organizational improvements, we haven’t dropped the ball on our scientific initiatives. My team and I have been working hard to make our science more visible to you. We recently filmed a behind the scenes tour of the D. Gary Young Research Institute, at the request of our Singapore market. I invited a number of scientists to help lead the tour. Here are a few behind the scenes photos of the behind the scenes tour, with Varun Koneru, our Senior Director of Product Development, Dr. Richard Carlson, our Executive Director of Research and Analytical Services, and yours truly, the Chief Cook and Bottle Washer. We had a lot of fun doing this and after our Singapore team shows this at their Virtual Essential Oil Summit 2020 next week, we’ll be able to share it with all of you. 20.01.2022 DIY cleaning with ingredients you have at home can be super easy and is one way you can reduce the amount of toxins in your house! Adhesive remover: Put a few d...rops of Lemon essential oil on a cotton ball and scrub wherever needed! Crayon remover: Apply a splash of Thieves Household Cleaner and 3 drops of Lemon essential oil to a damp rag. Wipe drawings off the walls Repeat until the art is gone Stovetop cleaner: Mix equal parts of Thieves Household cleaner and Thieves Automatic Dishwasher Powder and combine into a paste Add 2 drops of Eucalyptus Radiata essential oil Garbage disposal refresher: Refresh the disposal with a clean scent! Pour one capful of Thieves Household Cleaner down the disposal. Let sit 5 minutes. Add cup baking soda and cup white vinegar. Let sit until fizzing stops. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil; pour down the drain. Turn on disposal and run cold water for 30 seconds. Pour 3 drops of Purification essential oil blend in the disposal for an extra-fresh scent. Toilets, Sinks, and Tubs Scrub: Mix two parts baking soda with one part Thieves Household Cleaner, or until you have paste like consistency. Add two drops of Purification essential oil. Use the mixture on tile, grout, and sinks and wash with off with a wet rag. Wood cabinet polish: Polish your cabinets and eliminate buildup! In a spray bottle or bowl, mix the following: 5-10 drops Pine essential oil cup olive oil capful Thieves Household Cleaner Apply evenly to cabinets with a damp cloth. 15.01.2022 I have some big news! You may recall my earlier post about our Young Living Herbarium, located within the D. Gary Young Research Institute at our global headqua...rters. Well, now, our Young Living herbarium has been officially recognized and registered with the New York Botanical Garden. The New York Botanical Garden is the world registry for herbaria. The official registered name of the herbarium is the Young Living Essential Oils Aromatic Plant Herbarium. All herbaria are assigned an herbarium code (for example, the Royal Botanical Society in London is RBS). Young Living's code is YLAH (short for Young Living Aromatic Herbarium). The easiest way to find information for any herbaria is use a code search on the New York Botanical Garden website (http://sweetgum.nybg.org/science/ih/). As I’ve mentioned in my previous post, herbaria are like museums, used to permanently house botanical specimens. All plant herbaria provide access for researchers around the world to study and compare plant specimens, so registering herbaria is key to building a scientific network for botanical research. Now that we are registered, scientists from anywhere in the world can perform an online search to see if our herbarium houses information they need for their research. There are over 3,000 herbaria registered throughout the world and having our herbarium registered now provides the opportunity to add to this network. Of those registered, it appears that only a few focus specifically on aromatic plants (the All-Russian Research Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants and the Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants are two examples). YLAH is now part of this very exclusive group of herbaria and is the first of its kind in North America. All botanical specimens submitted to an herbarium contain basic information showing the identification of the specimen, the specific location (including the elevation) where it was found, the official botanical name and common names of the specimen, and facts about what other plants were growing nearby. In addition to this, we also provide the aromatic profile of the essential oil distilled from the plant, which is a unique feature of our herbarium. This additional information links traditional taxonomy research with chemotyping, and lays the foundation for novel phenotype/genotype research. Right now YLAH contains over 100 plant specimens from all around the world. A few examples include Madagascar (ylang, vetiver), Ecuador (ylang), Morocco (rosemary, myrtle, blue tansy), Tunisia (bitter orange), Bulgaria (roman chamomile), Croatia (helichrysum, sage), Argentina (lemon), Italy (lemon and bergamot). Our specimens not only span the globe, but they also span across 25 different plant families. The diversity of aromatic plants never ceases to amaze me. 20% of our specimens are currently from the Lamiaceae (mint) family. These include samples that one typically associates with mint (spearmint, peppermint, catmint) but others that are not as commonly thought of as mint (sage, basil, patchouli, lavender, rosemary, mountain savory, vitex). Aromatic plants also grow at a wide range of elevations. We have an ylang (Cananga odorata) specimen from Madagascar that grows at 70 meters above sea level and Skypilot (Polemonium viscosum) that grows in Utah at 3700 meters above sea level. Preparing the specimens is quite tedious, and we must follow standard practices that are followed by all herbaria. It takes 2-3 months to process any given sample before it is submitted to the herbarium. We will continue to add specimens as we collect them. So this herbarium represents a lot of work by some very dedicated scientists, but we think it is essential work to drive global understanding of these important aromatic plants. Frankly, our scientists didn’t even need any encourage mint! I want to emphasize that this was a tremendous team effort and I want to personally thank Tyler Wilson, Ariel Poulson, and MacKenzie Jones; three very self-motivated scientists who continue to drive this effort. 07.01.2022 A post I pinched from Christine Taylor on Panaway. For some reason Im always bumping myself or getting bitten by these nasty huge bull dog ants that jump! I banged my little toe on the corner of a slate tile and thought Id broken my toe. I was in agony! Panaway, instant pain gone!... Ant bites, Panaway instant pain gone and swelling from the bite gone. Also stops the itching after insect bites. Bump my hips and bruise easily, panaway, no bruising. A friend had severe toothache and couldnt get to dentist till next day, panaway, instant relief. Headaches (not that I get them), also period pain. Panaway stops internal bleeding. Just use panaway for any injuries that dont have open wounds or open skin. A man I know got thrown by his ram and broke his hip. Post surgery I gave him some and he was able to find pain relief. See more

05.01.2022 What have you tried diluting? Double (or Triple) Up! Because many of Young Livings products are so concentrated, you are able to get even more for your money b...y diluting to double or triple the amount you started with. Here are some products I have found that I can double up on and still get the same great results: Shampoo/Conditioner/Shower Gel - You guys, these are SOOOO thick! If you decide not to dilute, you only need a dime-size amount, thats all. I separate mine into two bottles, add HOT water (this is key), and turn my bottles upside down overnight to let everything mix, then shake well before each use. Thieves Dishwasher Powder - Combine 50/50 with baking soda or super washing soda to double up. Thieves Mouthwash - This is another product that is so strong and potent. Mix 50/50 with water and its just right. Thieves Foaming Hand Soap this will dilute to 3 x 236 ml containers so for $27.40 Retail that works out to be $9.14 and it is toxic chemical free. So that means NO side effects ! Have your own account and buy at wholesale price of $20.85 and that works out to be $6.95 for 236 ml. Why not grab the hand soap you are currently using, do the math's and research the ingredients and see what you are really paying for. Orange Blossom Face Wash - This one will give you more than double. Add 2 Tbsp to an 8-ounce foaming soap pump add water and use 1-2 pumps daily. You will get FOUR 8-ounce foamer's from your ONE bottle of face wash, which could last you up to a year depending on use. Lets do some math on this one.
