23.01.2022 It can sneak right up on you. And ruin a great day. It feels like it will never end. It can be debilitating for a lot of people. It makes you forget who you are and how strong you are. For some of us, it feels like you cant breathe properly.... It seems as though you are the only one feeling this pain. It is SO isolating, because you feel like you are so strange compared to others. Its happening to the person you would never expect. The girl with the smile. The guy who is balancing everything and seems so strong. The one who always listens. The one who never complains or talks about their own problems and just keeps going. Today is a reminder. You are not alone in your battles. Let today be the acknowledgement that 1 in 5 Australians suffer from mental illness. You are NOT alone. And you can find the support that works for you. Let it be the reminder that asking how someone is doing, could be life changing Never assume everyone is OK. Let it remind you to be kind to others - you really don’t have any idea what anyone is going through. Let it be the day you realise that there is support out there, and you don’t have to keep living with mental illness. 21.01.2022 There are no expectations that you arrive at your mat with inner peace. It’s normally the exact opposite. You don’t have to feel a certain way, you just have to show up. Most of us have found the practice because we needed peace from the noise inside and around us. The beauty of yoga and the most powerful lesson I have learnt from it is the ability to find this peace and calm wherever I go. It has taught me to find grounding in stressful situations and to keep my heart steady... when I would normally panic. The benefits are endless when you take the time to know yourself, and the things that help keep your two feet on the ground when the world around you becomes too fast

We couldn’t have asked for a nicer bunch of women. I hope that you could also feel the connection! It was an absolute pleasure and I can’t wait to do it again ... Its been 4 years now of sharing yoga in Port Hedland and I always finish the year with a heart full of gratitude for all of you for continuing to show up. It was a year of conquering obstacles, community and growth, and I hope to take what I have learnt into 2021 and to keep aiming higher. 09.01.2022 I hope you know you aren’t broken. And that you can feel good about yourself. I hope you remember the things that you love, and the things that make you feel safe and grounded. I hope you realize how important you are to this world, and that you are supported. Mental health awareness month ... Find a practice that works for you, that brings you back to life. Do your research and try some yoga, breathing and meditation. It really helps. And of course, seek support. We are so lucky we have so many resources around us and they are essential in finding ways we can break our own barriers. (Check out my mental health highlights if you need help remembering.) Talking to someone is brave and can be the most helpful thing you do. It’s important to remember that sometimes we can be our own wall between illness and wellbeing. And you are strong enough to break them down on your own. I hope you know there is light on the other side of the fog
