I've never thought of the skin like this, but its actually a vital part of the immune system. I guess it makes sense when we consider the skin is the first line of defense against everything we come into contact with. Human sweat actually contains a natural germ killing protein called dermcidin which can protect against ...strains of some germs ! 17.01.2022 Just like that its Monday morning again. I hope everyone had an awesome weekend and made the most of yesterdays weather! If you are someone who struggles with a lack of self belief or you experience self limiting thoughts which hold you back from achieving your goals , here are some things to keep in mind. #1- Identify the self limiting thoughts or beliefs, write them down..it gets them out of your head and into the open. #2- Next ask yourself why you believe this . Has someo...ne said something to you in the past that has made you lose confidence in yourself? Or is it something else? #3- Think about how these beliefs make you feel, describe it in a few words. #4-Ask yourself..."is this belief really true? What evidence do i have?" #5-If you know its not true explore alternative theories/beliefs. #6- Think about how these new theories and beliefs might feel, describe it in a few words. #7-Discard the old belief system and adopt the new, reinforce the new system. You may need to constantly remind and check in on yourself to change that old neural pathway. It is possible ! Happy Monday everybody !

12.01.2022 I made good use of the warmer weather this afternoon! Bit of a basic workout, was feeling uninspired and like I just wanted something to engage my body without having to think too much. A bit of sun and a bit of music and I was soon feeling better! On a side note, I don't know if any of you have tried to skip in heavy winds or not, but I can safely tell you it was highly frustrating Skipping is a fun, effective way to get the heart pumping. Skipping ropes are easy to find and easy to store. Skipping is great for coordination and motor function, for strengthening the feet and ankles and for improving cardiovascular health. There is a bit of a skill to it, and learning may require a little patience, but its my all time favourite go to exercise!

06.01.2022 On the back of R U OK? day, here's a list of things that may help you if you are struggling to cope right now. 1- Make a self-care plan- Draft a plan of action and ask a support person to hold you accountable. 2-Do things that actively help you reduce anxiety, exercise, get some fresh air, sit outside in the sun with a book ( my fav), listen to some music, write in a journal, have a nice hot drink (or a cold one !). 3-Another thing to consider is your thoughts and where they ...are taking you. We have a lot of spare time to let our minds wander to all sorts of places right now, try catch unhelpful thoughts and ask yourself is there another, more helpful way I could think about this situation? 4-Seek professional help when you need it. There is absolutely no shame in reaching out to a helpline. I've done it twice myself during this second lockdown. So many people have a love/hate relationship with Sunday they enjoy the fact that its still the weekend but also dread that Monday (and the inevitable work week) creeping up. The antidote to this? 03.01.2022 Our weekly opening hours will be: Mon-Thu 6am - 10pm Fri 6am - 7pm Sat 9am - 5pm... Sun 9am - 1pm Following direction from government our club will be open during staffed hours only, until further notice - as our club will need to be staffed with a dedicated COVID Safety Marshal on-duty during all open hours. We have been told a maximum of 1 per 4 sqm so upto 96 at one given time. As a result, we’re following guidelines from the government and Fitness Australia to ensure your wellness, so the following will be in place when we re-open: - We will be reopening with the 1 per 4 sqm rule. - We have additional sanitation stations in place for members to use. - To enable social distancing of 1.5m we have spread our equipment.
