25.01.2022 Let's not forget about the boys. There are a lot of services available that support the wellbeing of girls but not so many for boys . There could be a number of reasons for this, but creating positive mental health and wellbeing is universal no matter what your gender. We know that the teen years can be just as tricky for boys as it is for girls. Boys are also craving more independence and are greatly influenced by their peers and of course their screens. As a parent y...ou may often find it difficult to know when to shift boundaries and expectations to suit his emerging need for independence. This can often result in a battle of wills that everyone gets pulled into but no one ever wins. It is so important to ensure that teen boys have the knowledge and skills to build good friendships, have clear boundaries and make good decisions for their life. The major factors that enable them to navigate successfully through these turbulent years are a sense of belonging, confidence and resilience. What is also important is the development of a solid moral compass as it will lead them in the direction that they truly want to go in life and helps them make good decisions. Sometimes the challenges they face can easily steer them off track and start drawing them away from the path they had planned or that you had dreamed for them. The Navigating Life’s Challenges workshop will help your son learn to be the driver of his own life and steer him towards a thriving future. In the workshop he will learn and develop skills to enhance his ability to: Develop self-belief and confidence Build positive self-talk and healthy habits Have realistic expectations and strong boundaries Create and maintain healthy friendships/relationships Develop good mental health and wellbeing Become more accountable for his thoughts, feelings and actions Align his core values with his behaviour Visualise a clear path towards the future with actionable goals. This workshop is followed by a free parent information session. Places are limited and bookings are essential. To book visit: www.theresiliencerev.com.au Or go to link in bio.

24.01.2022 Feelings are an unavoidable part of life. Sometimes children believe that the best way to deal with tricky feelings is to avoid them or become super reactive to them. Neither option is helpful long term for your child’s development. Learning what feelings are and how to manage them is an essential skill for all children to develop resilience. This practical and fun workshop builds children's emotional intelligence. They will learn that all feelings are normal, even the t...ricky ones. Children will explore helpful and unhelpful ways of dealing with tricky feelings and will be empowered to take more control over their feelings to make positive changes in their lives. If your child is having difficulties managing their tricky feelings, having regular meltdowns over little things, becoming emotional or anxious more often or is unable to express their feelings in words and maybe behaving inappropriately then this workshop is for them. This workshop is suitable for all children and will build their emotional intelligence and confidence to manage tricky feelings. In this practical workshop we will: Normalise feelings: Children will learn about different feelings and how everyone feels them, even the tricky ones. Develop emotional intelligence: Children will gain an understanding of why some feelings are easy to manage and why some are tricky to manage Build self-awareness: Children will reflect on their own feelings and behaviours and identify helpful and unhelpful ways of dealing with tricky feelings Improve self-regulation skills: Children will learn practical skills to regulate their feelings and behaviour in helpful ways in different situations. They also learn how to put these skills into action. Build confidence and resilience: Children will develop the mindset that they can take more control over their thoughts, feelings and behaviour with a little bit of practice. The workshop will be followed by a free parent information session. For more information and to book visit: https://www.theresiliencerev.com.au/workshops-for-kids-and/

23.01.2022 When I see my kids sad or anxious all I want to do is make it all better for them. Its a parents natural instinct. I hate seeing them suffer especially when it seems like it can be avoided. But I also am very much aware that if I take away all the challenges in life for them I am not allowing them the opportunities to build resilience. ... I want my kids to be resilient so that they can bounce back when life knocks them down. I want to know that they will be ok no matter what happens. To grow resilient kids you have to be to a resilient parent who is COMFORTABLE with seeing them UNCOMFORTABLE. Allowing them to move through the discomfort allows them to grow to be confident kids who run towards the challenges instead of away from them.

23.01.2022 Which relationship in your life gets the most of your precious time? Is it your relationship with your parents, partner, kids or . your phone? If you are not sure or are possibly in denial then take the quiz below to reveal the truth. ... Answer YES or NO to the following questions: Is your phone the first thing you reach for when you wake in the mornings and the last thing you hold before you go to sleep at night? When your kids ask you to get off your phone and play with them, do you tell them that you are busy working? Do you refuse to go places without your phone? If your phone makes one little sound do you rush to it immediately? Do you have to take your phone with you when you go to the toilet? Is your phone your wing man/woman when you find yourself in awkward social situations? Is your phone your number one go to for advice? When you take a break at home or work do you enjoy sitting down with your phone? Do your children constantly complain that you are ALWAYS on your phone? If you left your phone at home would this be just as bad as leaving your child at home and would you turn your car around in a hurry to drive home to get it? Are you possessive of your phone and refuse to let others look, touch or play with it? Do you feel really nervous when you are around water with your phone? Do you find that time just slips away when you and your phone are together? Does your phone have to join you at the table when you are having dinner with family and friends? Does your phone know more about you than your partner? If you answered YES, to three or more of the above questions you are likely spending too much of your precious time in an unhealthy dependent relationship with your phone. This maybe impacting negatively on you and those closest to you. Your time is a precious gift. Spend it wisely. Drop a below if you know you need to end your unhealthy relationship with your phone and tag someone close to you who might need to take the quiz too. #whatmattersmost #unhealthyrelationships #dependency #phoneaddict #connection #precioustime #priorities #wellbeingmatters #mentalhealth #doyourselfafavor

22.01.2022 On the road trip of life we are are quickly approaching the silly season stop over. Now is the perfect time to take a moment and reflect on what of type driver you are. There are a few common types of drivers on the road.... Defensive Driver always blaming others and arguing their case Drunk Driver avoidance at its best, self-soothing and in denial Road Rager fighting others, inner turmoil, placing unwanted anger onto others Cautious Driver controlled, over planning in an attempt to avoid the obstacles, checking their mirrors constantly Tired Driver over functioning, lack of self-care, unclear boundaries Distracted Driver overthinking, worried about what others think too much, checking their phone constantly Dangerous Driver speeding, reckless, risk taking, lack of respect for safety of self and others Safe driver responsible for all the happens on the trip, takes ownership for mistakes, always looking out to where they are heading, making plans on how they are going to get there, and consistently moving in that direction each day with respect for self and others. Sometimes the way you drive can steer you off track. If you feel this is happening to you lately then maybe this would be a great time to pull up, refuel and reassess your plans so you can travel in the direction you truly want to go with ease. Drive safe and if for whatever reason you don't think you can, then just call an UBER! Which type of driver best describes you at the moment? 22.01.2022 Dont keep your KIND thoughts to yourself. People need to hear them more than ever. As I go about my day I often have random kind thoughts about people I encounter in the day, also about my family, my friends and even those that I may have not seen or spoken to in ages. Most of the time when I get these thoughts, I am busy doing something and dont think to stop to take a moment and share these thoughts with the person I am thinking of. BUT what if I did? ... How could this potentially impact them and their life? Im sure Im not alone in experiencing this phenomenon. I sometimes wonder if these random thoughts pop into our minds on purpose, like we are all the carriers of human kindness who have been gifted with a voice to spread it. If we all used this gift to share kind thoughts with others what a profound difference we could make in this world. Dont let your kind thoughts about another go unspoken. Deliver them as they fall no matter how small. #kindnessmatters #spreadgoodvibes #lovenothate #tellsomeoneyoulovethem #sharepositivity #inspireothers #empowerothers #kindcomments #peopleneedpeople #humanityrestored #wellbeing #mentalhealthmatters #bethechange #nicethingstosay #kindnessisfree

22.01.2022 Do you want to do more to improve your mental health and well-being? Its not what you need to do MORE of that counts. It is what you need to do LESS of that is really going to shift things into another gear for you. Often when we are on a quest to improve our wellbeing and change our lives, we believe we need to DO MORE in order to achieve this. ... BUT have you considered that the simplest way to achieve this might be to DO LESS? Imagine how your life could be if you DECIDED to DO LESS of the following: people pleasing (saying yes when you mean no) over committing putting yourself last overcompensating for others having unrealistic expectations of yourself trying to control people and circumstances worrying about what others think proving your worth giving a s**t about things that dont really matter. What are you going to DO LESS? #lessismore #lessisbest #wellbeingmatters #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthquotes #peoplepleaser #overachiever #overcompensating #puttingyourselflast #overthinking #quotes #dailyaffirmations #theresiliencerev #tmmcteam #womenempowerment #womeninbusiness

20.01.2022 I dream big. Like real BIG! Ever since I was little I have had big dreams and somehow the inner belief that one day I would make them come true. There has definitely been times when I have become a non-believer and thought it was all too hard. There have also been times when I have prayed for a miracle to magically make my dreams come to life. I may have even bought a few jackpot lotto tickets in the hope of getting out of all the hard work and arriving at dreams in an inst...ant. But what I have learnt is that if I want those dreams bad enough I have to work hard to make them a reality. I dont wait around for the day I might catch a lucky break or get the knock on the door with my dream platter getting handed to me. I dream big. Then when I wake, I create. #dreambig #workhard #dreambigworkhard #noeasywayout #youcandoanything #believeinyourself #dontwaituntilitstoolate #dreamsintoplans #dreamsintoreality #makeshithappen #createyourreality #onedayatatime #createyourlife #actionsspeaklouderthanwords #bttdcollection #theresiliencerev #tmmcteam

20.01.2022 My Dad is famous for a few things. He is like royalty really. Firstly, he gives the best hugs in the world. He hugs so tight that you think he is going to crack your ribs. Like he literally squeezes all the worries out of you and replaces them with the sound of his soft voice saying everything is going to be ok and I have always believed him. He is also famous for his beautiful big belly laugh. If I am ever trying to find him at a party I stop and listen for his laugh and... can hear it above all the other chatter. His laugh always reminds me to find the humour and joy in the simplest things in life. He his also famous for his deep and abundant unconditional love. You can just feel it. He shares it freely with all he meets. There is something really special about this man. He is my Dad and he makes me feel safe and loved. What more could a girl want? 19.01.2022 To function in the new digital era we need passwords and LOTS of them. So many in fact that we can store them on a key chain which also requires a password to unlock. If you forget that one you are stuffed. These passwords are what allow us access to our most precious things like our sensitive information, our money and our employment. Passwords definitely have an important role in safeguarding what is ours and allowing us access to it when needed. However, a password cann...ot give us access to the inner courage, strength and determination needed to drive our life in the direction we want it to go. We all have it, resting there within us waiting to be unlocked. Sometimes we forget it is there or feel as if it has gone missing or start believing that we were not lucky enough to be gifted with it. But believe me it is there in each us and to access it we need more than a password we need a POWERWORD. What is that you might ask. A powerword is a personally selected word that when spoken out loud reminds you instantly of the power that lives within you. The mere mention of this word begins to stir your inner strength, courage and determination which brings forth bold action. It unlocks what already exists in you and gives you a firm push towards achieving your goals in life. It is a word that you dont hide away and keep secret so no one else finds it and steals what is yours. It is a word that you display in places that you will see it often so that you are frequently reminded of your inner power. A powerword must: Have an exclamation mark at the end !!!! Be no more than 3 words put together (or you will forget it for sure) Needs to pack a punch Needs to be displayed in places you will see it often Can include profanities depending on personal taste Needs to be updated every 12 months or it loses effect. What is your POWERWORD going to be? Try to guess mine U#*T@*%#*^E! #unlockyourpower #nomorehiding #limitlesspossibilities #mindsetofgreatness #powerword #mindsetforwellbeing #goodmentalhealth

18.01.2022 Every day we wake and step into another busy day. There always seems to be so much to do and never enough time to do it all. The jobs to do list is endless and in our attempt to keep our heads above water we rush through each day seeing only what is still to be done or what is missing. Yet we are surrounded by some much beauty within our environment, within our families and within ourselves. It has always been there radiating beneath the surface waiting for a moment of stillness to be seen. Beauty is unearthed in the stillness. #busylife #beautywithin #beautysurroundsus #stillness #unearthed

18.01.2022 There is no shame in NOT feeling ok. Why is it that we feel LESS THAN if we haven’t got it all together ALL the time? It is part of the human experience to struggle. But no one needs to struggle alone. It takes a very strong person to find their voice within the darkness and shout out I’m not ok. If this is you don’t feel ashamed for how you feel. 17.01.2022 The stigma surrounding mental health unfortunately still exists. When the words are mentioned people generally assume that there is something WRONG with someone. Our mental health is no different to our physical health. We focus on staying healthy but sometimes we can fall ill either physically or mentally. No one is thought of negatively when they are physically ill however at times when people are experiencing a mental illness they are. Mental illness is often still associa...ted with weakness or being LESS ABLE. This is so far from reality. When a person experiences significant struggle in any area of their life and can bounce back from it they are courageous, brave and strong. When you listen to the stories of some of the most influential people in the world you will hear that they were not without their struggles and they acknowledge the struggle for giving them STRENGTH and WISDOM to light the way out of the darkness for others. #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthstigma #thestruggleisreal #bounceback #lighttheway #courage #brave #bethelight

Check out the week 9 - ASK ME ANYTHING SERIES video below. This video provides more insights into why resilience is so important in developing good mental health and also provides some great tips to help your child develop more resilience.

15.01.2022 Hi, It’s Lena! I am just a regular Mum who works hard, loves my family and only wants the best for my kids. I feel so lucky to be the Mum of two amazing girls. But over the years I had fallen in the trap of putting everyone else’s needs before my own and not living or enjoying life the way I truly wanted to. I was so stressed and exhausted by all the endless responsibilities, the long list of expectations and overwhelming commitments of Motherhood that I found myself in sur...vival mode and this was not how I wanted to live my life. After years of broken promises and letting myself down I finally decided that enough was enough and committed to making some changes in my life so I was no longer just surviving Motherhood but was THRIVING! It wasn’t easy to create change as I had avoided it for so long and over time had developed some unhelpful habits and ways of managing my unwanted feelings. But I made a start by taking small steps towards my goals and over time it got easier. I still work on these things each day but my mindset has changed and now I greet each day with the confidence of knowing that no matter what happens I will not only survive, but I will THRIVE! In the past I think the biggest reason I resisted taking action was because I thought it meant having to do more and I simply didn’t have any more time in the day. But honestly, there were lots of things I was doing that weren’t essential or contributing to my life in a positive way. I knew that if I STOPPED DOING some of those unhelpful and unnecessary things I would have more time to embed some POSITIVE changes into my life. I just knew that I couldn’t keep doing the same things day in and day out and expect things to be any different. So finally, I committed to making the changes I always knew where needed and by improving my own wellbeing it has caused a ripple effect in all the other areas of my life and in the lives of those closest to me. Now that I am thriving my whole family is thriving too! I now help other Mums learn how to do the same in The Revolutionise Your Life and Thrive Workshop. Sat, 9th Jan 2021 ~ 9am-3pm ~ Sunshine Coast ~ $150 Tickets: www.theresiliencerev.com.au

14.01.2022 When we pick up a magazine, scroll through social media, attend an inspiring PD, read a good book or chat with friends we will often hear about many awesome strategies that could potentially improve the quality of our lives. When we first hear a great strategy, we are immediately inspired to act. But the reality for some of us is that we may never give it a go and if we do it is likely that after a week, we feel it doesnt work and give up on it. Why is this?... The honest answer is because we want instant results and we lack consistency. Yep! We want to take the easy road. But is it really easier in the long run? We might say "I have heard about that but I cant do it because I dont have time" or "I tried it and didnt work for me or that might be easy for them to do but that isnt my thing" or the best one "Ive tried EVERYTHING and NOTHING works for me". These are just the lies we tell ourselves to avoid getting uncomfortable and doing the hard work needed to create change in our lives. A strategy is nothing but a great plan if it is not actioned with consistency. You cannot expect lasting change when you show up inconsistently. To change old patterns of thinking and to create new habits in your life it is going to take hard work and consistency. Travel the hard road now and you will reach easy street before too long. 13.01.2022 Anxiety does not discriminate, nor does it present itself in every person the same way. It can often go undetected or can be confused as naughty behaviour in children. Anxiety can present in one or more of the following ways: Wanting to control others and events Having high or unrealistic expectations Feeling agitated and having anger outbursts... Defiance and difficult behaviour Avoiding activities and places (e.g school) Getting upset when having to leave a parent Over thinking and over planning Overly worried before events or prior to doing something new Resistant to change and becoming unsettled when plans change Symptomatic complaints (e.g. belly ache, headache, muscle pain) Difficulty managing emotions Intolerance of uncertainly and constantly asking questions or seeking reassurance Difficulties relaxing or sleeping Struggling to concentrate and pay attention. Parenting a child who experiences feelings anxiety often can leave parents feeling defeated. When a child becomes overwhelmed by anxious feelings it can impact greatly on their ability to regulate their behaviour and make good choices. It can also become a barrier which prevents them from wanting to participate in daily activities like going to school or other activities. Parenting an overly anxious child can feel like being a high level negotiator which can often lead to frustration and exhaustion. The best way to help children manage anxious feelings is to educate them about what anxiety is. TO TAME THE BEAST, YOU FIRST NEED TO UNDERSTAND IT. The Taking Control of Anxiety workshop focuses on normalising anxiety and empowering children to use practical skills to manage anxious feelings in more helpful ways. It puts them back in the driver seat of their lives and empowers them to take back control of their thoughts, feelings and actions. This practical workshop is perfect for all children 8-13 years. This workshop is followed by a free parent information session. For more workshop details and to book visit: https://www.theresiliencerev.com.au/workshops-for-kids-and/

11.01.2022 How would it feel to greet each day with the confidence of knowing that no matter what happens you will not only survive, but you will THRIVE? I know that motherhood can often feel like a daily dose of overwhelm, stress and anxiety. Everyone feels this way at some point along the way but it doesn't have to be like this forever. You can create change and have more time to enjoy the things that matter most to you. In the past you may have resisted taking action to make the cha...nges needed in your life because you thought it meant having to do more and you simply don’t have any more time in the day. But looking after your own wellbeing doesn’t always have to mean doing more. The first step towards creating real and lasting change is by getting honest with yourself and admitting that things need to change. You can’t keep doing the same things day in and day out and expecting things to be any different from how they are right now. If you are tired of all the broken promises and the long list of excuses, then get serious about taking back control of your life. Don't put it off any longer. Today is the day to make a COMMITTMENT to yourself. This will then create a ripple effect in all the other areas of your life and in the lives of those around you. Now is your opportunity to REVOLUTIONISE YOUR LIFE AND THRIVE. This workshop helps to reduce feelings of stress, anxiety and overwhelm which will allow you to: Feel more in control of your life Make yourself a priority without the guilt Feel more joy, contentment, confidence Have a better relationship with yourself and those around you Do more of the things you want to do Be the Mum you truly want to be Live a more fulfilled and balanced life Have more time to enjoy the things that matter most (kids/family) Create a happy and calm home where everyone is thriving Genuinely love and care for yourself Have more energy and get more out of each day. Make 2021 the year that you commit to creating the change you have always wanted for your life. It all starts with YOU. Saturday, 9th Jan 2021 ~ 9am-3pm ~ Sunshine Coast ~ $150 To book visit: www.theresiliencerev.com.au

10.01.2022 In the world today there are so many people experiencing uncertainty. Right now, within our own communities and within our own families there are people doing it really tough. When we think of those close to us that are experiencing difficulties and uncertainty, we often wonder what we can say or do to help make it better somehow. Yet, it feels that even if we could speak the magic words or perform the grandest task, we would still not be able to lessen the impact of what t...hey are facing. In uncertain times what do people want the most? They want CERTAINTY. Now, we might not be able to give them the certainty they need to lessen the impact of the difficulties they are facing BUT we can definitely give them the certainty that they will never have to face it alone. What we can do is give them certainty by showing up for them and listening with deep empathy. We can hold space for them when they need to vent, scream or cry. We can sit in the discomfort of uncertainty with them so that our enduring presence becomes the certainty that holds them steady. #uncertaintimes #nocontrol #supportingothers #bethecertainty #showup #listen #holdspace #mentalhealthawareness #wellbeing #familyiseverything #friendsforlife #bethereforeachother #trust #hope

10.01.2022 Playfulness is something that we associate with children laughing and having fun. But who made the rule that adults cant be playful? At what age is this deemed inappropriate? ... Playfulness is light-hearted fun. It can return us to a time of free-spirited innocence where our imagination runs wild with possibilities. It is a time when we can express ourselves with an untapped level of freedom and experience true joy without any conflicting level of responsibility. 10.01.2022 I made a promise and I intend to keep it! Just before COVID hit Australian shores I made a promise that I was going to develop a workshop or course to help women smash through the road blocks that stand between them and the ultimate vision they have for their life. I have stood before plenty of these road blocks in my life before and I understand how overwhelming it can be. Time and time again it feels like life is trying to teach me new lessons and places these road blocks... in my path for a reason. At the time it doesn't always appear to be clear what the reason is but through the process of removing it the lesson always becomes clear. It has taken a whole lot of self belief and hard work to smash through these road blocks but OMG it is worth it!!! I want to help you do the same and also want to create something that is going to best support your needs so that you can continue to lead a thriving family. I know you are busy but I would be so grateful if you could please take a few minutes to complete the survey below. Thanks so much, Lena x

10.01.2022 Self-worth is what allows you to walk through life with a genuine sense of who you are and what you bring to the world. It cannot be bought nor can it be stolen from another. True self-worth comes from owning all the parts of yourself and not wishing you could take parts of another to make you whole. Self-worth is wanting only to be the best you. #selfworthbuildsresilience #beyourbestself #acceptyourself #bttdcollection #theresiliencerev

10.01.2022 What should we teach our children to do when they come across a road block (life challenge)? 1. stop and wait for it to go away 2. avoid it and pretend it isn’t there 3. try to find a secret side road to get around it ... 4. that we will remove the road block for them so they can drive on without the hassle. None of the above options give our children the opportunity to develop confidence in WHO they are and WHAT they are capable of. When they come across a road block in life the only option is for us to teach them that we believe in their ability to smash straight through it. Yes they will feel uncomfortable but on the other side of the road block they will feel a sense of achievement and confidence like never before. The extra bonus is that each time they do this they are developing the resilience they will need to face anything that life throws in their path in the future. We need to teach them that road blocks don’t mean they have to STOP. Road blocks mean they might need to slow down, wait, problem solve ways to get through it and never give up until they do. 08.01.2022 Wow! How lucky am I? One of the luckiest human beings ever to be given the opportunity to create change in the life’s of these amazing kids and teens during our holiday workshops. We ran two fun filled days of workshops on the Sunshine Coast and in Toowoomba. They came from far and wide to learn how to cope with the challenges in life like their tricky feelings, unhelpful thoughts, reactions to difficult situations and to take control of how they respond to these things. ... Together they STRETCHED themselves to see things in new ways. They GREW a deeper understanding of who they are and what they are capable of and they definitely SOARED to new heights. I was honoured to be part of this and witness the pure joy on their faces as they left the workshops wanting more. Let’s do it all again next school holidays. Wishing you all a great start to the term. You’ve got this

07.01.2022 The teenage years can be a turbulent time when girls are craving more independence and are greatly influenced by their peers and of course their screens. As a parent you may often find it difficult to know when to shift boundaries and expectations to suit their emerging need for independence. This can often result in a battle of wills that everyone gets pulled into but no one ever wins. It is so important to ensure that teen girls have the knowledge and skills to build good... friendships, have clear boundaries and make good decisions for their life. The major factors that enable them to navigate successfully through these turbulent years are a sense of belonging, confidence and resilience. What is also important is the development of a solid moral compass as it will lead them in the direction that they truly want to go in life and help them make good decisions. Sometimes the challenges they face can easily steer them off track and start drawing them away from the path they had planned or that you had dreamed for them. The Navigating Life’s Challenges workshop will help your daughter learn to be the driver of her life and steer her towards a thriving future. In the workshop she will learn and develop skills to enhance her ability to: Develop self-belief and confidence Build positive self-talk and healthy habits Have realistic expectations and strong boundaries Create and maintain heathy friendships/relationships Develop good mental health and wellbeing Become more accountable for her thoughts, feelings and behaviour Align her core values with her behaviour Visualise a clear path towards the future with actionable goals. This workshop is followed by a free parent information session which provides a summary of the workshop content, helpful insights and practical strategies for how you can continue to support your daughter to navigate the challenges she will face in life. Places are limited and bookings are essential. To book visit: www.theresiliencerev.com.au

07.01.2022 When I see my kids sad or anxious all I want to do is make it all better for them. It’s a parents natural instinct.

07.01.2022 I know it is hard to believe that your teenager would thank you for anything, but there are definitely some awesome things that you are already doing right now that your teen will be thanking you for later in life. Right now they may resent you for these things and that would be very normal for a teen who is trying their hardest to develop their independence. But hang in there because your efforts now will be their reward later. Check out the week 11, Ask Me Anything Series video to find out the 3 things that your teen will thank you for later in life.

07.01.2022 Are you just like me? I often spend my time showing buckets loads of compassion to everyone else and forgetting that I need some of that good stuff too? Compassion is something we often express outwardly to others. When we see others suffering, we go out of our way to help them. ... Yet when we are suffering, we judge and criticise ourselves. Holding ourselves to ridiculously high standards is unsustainable and soul destroying. Self-compassion is inwardly expressing the SAME LEVEL of compassion, understanding, acceptance and empathy towards ourselves and what we are going through as we would to others. To walk through each day a little lighter and brighter show some compassion to yourself. Remember YOU MATTER too!! Are you with me?

06.01.2022 There is no shame in NOT feeling ok. Why is it that we feel LESS THAN if we havent got it all together ALL the time? It is part of the human experience to struggle. But no one needs to struggle alone. It takes a very strong person to find their voice within the darkness and shout out Im not ok. If this is you dont feel ashamed for how you feel. Allow those around you to light the path as you step out of darkness one step at a time. Everyone needs a light when th...ey find themselves in darkness. #ruok #itisoktonotbeok #noshame #everyonestruggles #sucideprevention #sucideawareness #askforhelp #notalone #bethelight #shineyourlight #pathoutofdarkness #mentalhealthaustralia #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthquotes #teenmentalhealth #kidsmentalhealth #parentmentalhealth #tmmcteam

05.01.2022 Do you want to do more to improve your mental health and well-being? It’s not what you need to do MORE of that counts. It is what you need to do LESS of that is really going to shift things into another gear for you. Often when we are on a quest to improve our wellbeing and change our lives, we believe we need to DO MORE in order to achieve this. ... BUT have you considered that the simplest way to achieve this might be to DO LESS? Imagine how your life could be if you DECIDED to DO LESS of the following: people pleasing (saying yes when you mean no) over committing putting yourself last overcompensating for others having unrealistic expectations of yourself trying to control people and circumstances worrying about what others think proving your worth giving a s**t about things that don't really matter. 04.01.2022 Welcome to week 7 of the ASK ME ANYTHING SERIES! Developing a positive mindset is so important. It is the key to helping us get through the challenges. It is easier to develop a positive mindset than it is to live with a negative one. Please dont forget to share this video with someone who needs it and keep sending me through your questions.... Best wishes always, Lena.

03.01.2022 Our kids mental health is NOT an optional extra. We are letting our kids down if we think for one second that their mental health is optional. It is not something to dismiss or put off until a more convenient time. It is not something that we can allow them to avoid either as the risks are too high. The scary reality in Australia is that 1 in 7 young people aged 4 to 17 years experience a mental health condition in any given year. Half of all the mental health conditions w...e experience at some point in our lives will have started by age 14. Suicide continues to be the biggest killer of young Australians (source: Beyond Blue). Good mental health is the key to living a healthy and functional life. As kids develop they need good mental health so they can face challenges, adapt to change and so that they can bounce back when life knocks them down. Good mental health also helps them feel good about themselves, build healthy relationships with others and enjoy life. Mental health difficulties in children can present in many different ways but most commonly however in frequent difficulties with regulating their feelings, struggling with unhelpful thoughts, challenging behaviours and relationships issues with others. So what can we do to improve the mental health and wellbeing of our kids? We can make mental health prevention and intervention non-negotiable. We treat it like we do any physical illness. If our child has a sore ankle, we ice it and do that we can to treat it ourselves. Then if things dont improve we seek further advice, support or treatment for it even if our child doesnt want to. Their mental health must be treated just the same. It is a non-negotiable also. Mental health problems are unlikely to get better on their own, so if you are noticing ongoing concerns for your child or teen reach out and seek support from your GP, school counsellor, psychologist or your local community health centre. The Resilience Revolution offers practical and engaging workshops for kids and teens giving them the knowledge and skills to build good mental health and better manage the challenges of life. 02.01.2022 And just like that our baby turned 6 There is something about my girl’s birthdays that gets me all sentimental and little emotional to be honest. Today we celebrate the birth of Gracie our youngest daughter. I am beyond grateful for my little Gracie girl. She inspires me, she grounds me and she loves me so much that every day it makes me strive to be the best I can be.

01.01.2022 At times we SIT and WAIT until we feel motivated before we take action on our goals. We tell ourselves that we lack motivation then wait for it to magically appear one day when we awake from our sleep. This is just wishful thinking as I dont know anyone who has had this happen for them. The reality is that motivation comes from DOING. The more you do something and it makes you feel good the more you will want to do it again. Take action in the absence of motivation and watch it grow. #takeaction #dontwait #youareworthit #motivated

01.01.2022 Have you ever wondered what your teen is really thinking? They might sometimes come across as if they lack empathy and are just a little self centred but this is all a normal part of the development process. Underneath the cool exterior though still lies the heart of a young child who needs you just as much as they ever have. Find out more about what your teen is thinking but may not ever admit to in this blog.
