13.01.2022 Not a bad morning at Camberley 1390 !!

13.01.2022 To say it’s been a massive week would be an under statement. Both crutching trailers & our lamb marking trailer, all on jobs at different corners of Victoria. We love what we do and being a family business it comes with some perks ... Last Sunday our girls trekked off to Gringegalgona with the 3 stand trailer working their butts off in some very tough sheep all week. I dare say it will be a quiet weekend here at home before they head off again on Sunday Once again having... the great staff we have makes this all possible Fleet Mckinnon Rhiley Mckinnon

12.01.2022 The mornings are getting quite cold, but we get to see some fantastic views and that makes up for it

06.01.2022 This morning we had an unfortunate reminder of a hazard, to our most important workers in & around shearing sheds. Fortunately we spotted Roy with his smoko snack & quickly identified he was eating rat bait. Had we not spotted him and promptly taken necessary actions the out come could have been a whole lot different.

06.01.2022 From today pain relief must be administered to sheep undergoing mulesing. This new provision, which is being introduced as part of the recent Prevention of Crue...lty to Animals Regulations 2019 (POCTA), is good for sheep, good for farmers and good for Victorias sheep industry. Pain relief products must be registered for use on sheep by the Australian pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority. For more information on what products to use speak to your veterinarian or read the VFF factsheet: https://bit.ly/2Yn63E4 You can find more information on the POCTA Regulations 2019 at http://agriculture.vic.gov.au//prevention-of-cruelty-to-an Victorian Farmers Federation Animal Welfare Victoria Meat & Livestock Australia Australian Wool Innovation Australian Veterinary Association VIC Division

03.01.2022 Crutching & Drenching today at Beaufort

03.01.2022 At least Roy thinks home schooling isnt all that stressful

03.01.2022 She did it! https://www.facebook.com/106216044659458/videos/2519370341700274 We now have a new world record holder Huge Celebrations & Congratulations Mo! #Of...ficialTally661 14th January 2021. #SmashedTheRecordBy13Sheep! Megan Whitehead of Gore, South Island, New Zealand, 24 years of age, weighing in at 60 kgs and 170 cm tall - has completely smashed the Solo Women's Shearing World Record by 13 sheep and finished with a final tally of 661 Strongwool Lambs in the 9-hour day. It was also a grueling hot day where fans were on high and large oxygen tubes had to be inserted into the shearing shed at the 'Grant Brothers Farm' situated near Gore. 1st Run 153, 2nd Run 132, 3rd Run 126, 4th Run 125, 5th Run 125 = 661. Each lamb was completed at a rate of under 50 seconds each and for the first run some were timed at 44 seconds which is a lot quicker than her daily tallies at work, where she shears roughly 400 lambs in a day. Acknowledging and sending love to the almighty previous world record holder Emily Welch of Waikaretu, New Zealand who shore 648 lambs, back in 2007 and held this record proudly for 13 years! More information to follow.... Photo Credit: Barbara Newton. Thank you.
