23.01.2022 SERIES 3 CLOSING DATE EXTENDED TO MONDAY, AUGUST 17. Hi everyone, its been a difficult time for everyone especially for those of us in Melbourne - we hope youre keeping safe. Weve decided to extend by three weeks the closing date for Series 3 entries. We will make every effort to organise face to face examinations where this is possible, but all students should be prepared to switch to video examinations if this becomes necessary. There is more information on the ANZCA website and there will be a detailed update in our teacher newsletter - Stretto - in the next few days. Good luck and be careful!

19.01.2022 The year is off to a flying start at ANZCA Music Examinations! Workshops have been held in five Queensland centres over the last 8 days, with events at the Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Beerwah, Brisbane and Rockhampton. Special thanks to our super enthusiastic QLD State Rep, Cynthia Delaney and (joint) Brisbane Rep Kerry Vann who both travelled and presented at each event. We also want to thank the many ANZCA local reps and teachers at each of the centres who assisted enormously in organising these sessions. Thanks to (joint) Brisbane Rep Karen Henderson (and her son Scott) who proceeded with her Brisbane presentation despite wearing a moon-boot! . Here are some photos from the Workshops.

16.01.2022 Hi everyone, I hope youre coming to terms with online teaching and all it involves. Its certainly different, isnt it? There isnt quite the same rapport with students, but its certainly better than them missing out. Paul Myatt and Gillian Erskine at Blackrock Music Shop are offering lots of support for teachers during this strange time. Id certainly recommend you tune in - but it looks like youll need to be quick! Best wishes to you all. The ANZCA Team.

13.01.2022 Dear Friends of ANZCA, In line with our current aims to continue providing our services to teachers and students, while keeping everyone safe and well, we have made the decision to temporarily close the ANZCA office. Now that we all have the capacity to work remotely, it enables us to all stay home and do our part to reduce the risk of spreading the illness as the government has requested. It is business as usual, with a couple of changes:... 1. Telephones We will not be in the office to answer telephones. If you need to speak with one of us, we will be only too happy to call you. Please do feel free to email us asking for a callback. The best email for any general enquiries to do with examinations is [email protected]. If you have any very specific requirement you can still email them to the above address as they can be seen by Tony and Andrew as well as Peggy and Kirsten. If you want the email seen by someone specific you can put "ATT: Peggy/Kirsten" etc in the email subject line. We will be monitoring the emails closely to ensure your needs are addressed quickly. 2. Book Orders We will be filling book orders once or twice a week. Everything will be sent by priority mail. If you need something urgently, please let us know in your email. Perhaps its best not to pay for Express Post as we may not be able to get to it for a day or two. 3. Series 1 Exams We will be contacting the teachers who have entered students for Series 1 by email very soon with information about the process for the video recording of exams. Please contact the office if you havent heard anything by the end of the week. Overall, we hope that this transition will be fairly seamless. We are all still here to help you get through this challenging time.

12.01.2022 Dear Teachers, students and Friends What a tumultuous time its been for everyone. I hope youre all finding a way to cope. ANZCA is fully supporting this national initiative instigated by the Victorian Music Teachers Association "VMTA is driving a lobbying effort on behalf of our members and our industry nationwide. We have the support of all the Music Teachers Associations across the nation; two independent examining bodies [including ANZCA Music Examinations]; and Music... Australia, the national peak body for music." Lets all get behind and do whatever we can to support this initiative."

08.01.2022 I’m sure many of you will be saddened to learn of the passing of Brenda Richardson who recently retired from ANZCA after ten years of outstanding service to our organisation. Brenda was loved by many teachers, examiners and students for the friendly and supportive approach she brought to her position. On a personal note Brenda was a huge support to me when I started at ANZCA and I’ll always be grateful for her assistance and friendship. Brenda became ill soon after her retirement and seemed to be improving for some time, but took a turn for the worst and passed suddenly. On behalf of Directors, Staff and the entire ANZCA community our sincere condolences to Brenda's husband John and the entire family. You’ll be sadly missed Brenda. Thanks for your tremendous contribution. Tony Betros

04.01.2022 (Apologies - it seems I didnt share the most important part of the post - the message from Sonny!): Heres an amazing offer from Sonny Chua ! Thank you Sonny! Hello everyone,... What a crazy time for everybody, regardless of what your life is about. It is one of those moments when I feel so lucky to have health, an amazing family and great friends. I am so impressed that our five year old daughter is sent a gracious message from her prep teacher to be constantly grateful for the good things in her day. This has somewhat inspired me to offer others something tangible. Since I have taken back copyrights of ALL my music at the start of this year, I am now able to sell them in anyway I want! So, I am going to sell all individual titles for the price of a BigMac. Yes... thats right! For the cost of an impulsive purchase of a juicy(?) burger, you can have a piece of classical/pop piano work, which will not leave you with a yucky after taste. Please have a look at the catalog of all the titles on my website:www.sonnychua.com. You can email what you would like and Ill send you a PayPal invoice and its done. Simples. Btw the pricing will be adjusted to the current price of a BigMac in Australia. Stay safe and musically alive! Sonny See more

04.01.2022 Dear teachers, students and parents, We sincerely hope you are finding ways to deal with the current crisis; its a tumultuous time for everybody. We are constantly monitoring the Government updates and Health websites to ensure our examination and office procedures remain valid. ...Continue reading

02.01.2022 A reminder that the extended Series 3 closing date is next Monday, 17 August. We can extend a little further if you need it, but please contact us by Monday and make us aware of your situation. Video exams can be booked much later - even through September, but again if you could update us by Monday that this may be a possibility, it would help us with planning.

01.01.2022 What a huge shock this is. - such terribly sad news.Vale Sonny Chua. Everyone at ANZCA sends sincere condolences to Melinda and family.
