Local government elections in Tasmania are a full postal ballot which means there is a polling period in which to mail your vote back, rather than one polling day. Each ballot pack contains two ballot papers and a booklet which has voting instructions and statements from the candidates. Your vote must be received before 10am on... Tuesday 1 September. 09.01.2022 We’re hiring! The Tasmanian Electoral Commission is looking to appoint Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers for elections in 2021 and 2022. These positions are usually 8 week appointments. Returning Officers are responsible for managing the election for a division, including managing the event, people, training and logistics. Assistant Returning Officers are the engine of the election office, managing staffing, locations, deliveries and a small team....
