Local government elections in Tasmania are a full postal ballot which means there is a polling period in which to mail your vote back, rather than one polling day. These positions are usually 8 week appointments. Returning Officers are responsible for managing the election for a division, including managing the event, people, training and logistics. Assistant Returning Officers are the engine of the election office, managing staffing, locations, deliveries and a small team....
