15.01.2022 Dressage Victoria Summary of Business Sept 2020 Dressage Victoria is working through COVID as best they can. Restrictions across the state have meant that clu...b competitions are on hold, with planning for the return to play being discussed as we start to make plans to come out the other side. The DV committee has been working hard at staying actively engaged with its members offering many online opportunities. For the latest news ensure you check the Dressage Victoria web page, and follow us on Facebook. Senior Squad The ZOOM welcome function was strongly supported, and plans are in place to conduct further sessions including a phyio session and an equine vet speaking on relevant topics. The November clinic will hopefully see a return to riding, and will closely monitored. Development Squad The Development squad has been able to engage members with an online presentation from 5* judge Suzie Hoevanaars. Suzie spoke on the judge’s role and perspectives. The success of this was followed up with another online presentation with music specialist Gaynor Colbourn (from the UK). With restrictions limiting contact the squad has plans to continue online for the moment. AOR The AOR groups has had 2 ZOOM experiences with Zoe Farrant from The Riders Physio offering a Pilates session, and the second with David Shoobridge offering training tips and discussing training questions sent in by the squad riders. The squad riders were also offered one free test in the Coastal Equestrian Clun Online Dressage Competition which was well received with riders gaining valuable test feedback from Jobina Kennedy. DJEP An online workshop with Ginny Creed was conducted, this offered some revision of test and included the training scale. There is another planned with Peter Share as the presenter. Smaller mentoring groups have been conducted for the upgrading of candidates with 3 new A grade judges being the result of the DJEP continued work. DV Young Rider Squad The last 2 planned squad weekends fell victim to COVID. The virtual protocol day was well support, with a virtual training workshop to be rolled out shortly. COMPETITIONS DJWTS With the rescheduled October event also having to be cancelled all efforts are now being made to make the March 2021 event bigger and better. Dressage Festival Planning for this event is well underway, with the schedule to be released shortly. A 4 tier qualifying structure which takes into account the lack of qualifying events will allow riders a clear and transparent line of sight to enter, while respecting the prestige of the events history. A highly experienced team has pulled together to run the event. AOR Championships Excitement is building with the Championship planning well underway. The schedule will be going out shortly. Victorian Dressage Youth Championships Preparation is well underway for this event. Qualifications will be waived for 2021 with consideration to the easing of restrictions rolling out as our youth are completing exams. Louise Curran Dressage Victoria Chair
