18.01.2022 The 16th Australasian Plant Breeding Conference (APBC) will be held at Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia on 21-24 June 2020. This is the first conference since 2014, and features the theme Towards 2050. Abstract submissions close 2nd March, so get in quick! 17.01.2022 We're very excited to announce Professor Mark Howden as a plenary speaker at #APBC2020! Mark is Director of the Climate Change Institute at ANU, and an expert on how climate variability and climate change will impact food production and food security and how we can adapt.

16.01.2022 We’re very excited to welcome Luis Gea from Plant and Food Research in New Zealand to the organising committee of APBC2020 to ensure we connect with our New Zealand colleagues. In 2017 Luis was part of the team that won The Prime Minister’s Science Prize for saving the New Zealand gold kiwifruit industry with a new variety tolerant to Psa disease. We’re very happy to have him join the team!

During these uncertain times, the organising committee of APBC2021 hopes that everyone stays safe and healthy. Don't forget to check in with your loved ones, and eat your fruit and vegetables!

08.01.2022 Speaker announcement!!! Dr. Jimmy Botella is a Professor of Plant Biotechnology at the University of Queensland, Australia. In 1995 he joined the University of Queensland where he established the Plant Genetic Engineering Laboratory (PGEL) specialising in the fields of tropical and subtropical agricultural biotechnology. Dr Botella has eleven international patents in the field of Plant Biotechnology, has founded two biotechnology companies and is a member of the Expert Scientific Panel for the Agricultural Biotechnology Council of Australia. His research interests include plant defence signalling, point-of-care diagnostics and biotechnological approaches for crop improvement. Don't forget to register to #APBC2020
