07.01.2022 Day of Saint Rosa of Lima To commemorate today the 31st of August 2020, the day of Saint Rosa of Lima, Teresita Daroca, wife of the Ambassador of Peru, Miguel ...Palomino, has launched the campaign Saint Rosa of Lima in your heart which will facilitate the delivery of a handmade cotton doll to Peruvian children from Arequipa and Australians from Canberra, inspired by the beautiful animals of Peru and Australia, to accompany them in these difficult times of pandemic due to COVID-19. Saint Rosa of Lima, who since her childhood had manifested a singular spiritual elevation, learnt music, singing and poetry by her mothers hand as well as sewing to help sustain the family budget. This project remembers the work of the Peruvian Saint, Patroness of the Americas, Indies and the Philippines, in order to help others. The dolls are made in Canberra by volunteers of different nationalities many of whom are members of the Diplomatic Corps as well as Australians with good hearts. Llamas, kangaroos, koalas, monkeys, rabbits, cats, and puppies are examples of the dolls which will be launched today, and which will be given for distribution to Bishop Raul Chau, Auxiliary Bishop of Arequipa and, in Canberra, Australia, to His Excellency Archbishop Titos Yllana, Apostolic Nunciature of His Holiness.
