03.01.2022 Despite this year turning out to be a complete global clusterfuck ... It’s been a HUGE year for my squatting I’ve hit more PR’s than I could have ever imagined Reaching new heights with my 5RM and 3RM (220kg & 230kg respectively) Plus a stack of beltless, paused and volume PR’s Which have provided me with an incredible degree of focus Through what has been a weird AF (to say the least) 2020 BUT Nothing compares to breaking my all-time 1RM PR Which I’d set years ago but was never recorded so technically I didn’t happen, right This wasn’t at all planned for this day I was building up towards 240kg (my previous 1RM) but still felt I was a few weeks away from getting there Until everything just fell incredibly well into place I hit 3 singles at 230kg (my planned working sets) which all felt easy AF And as soon as I got a sniff of potentially having a crack at simply matching my 1RM It was fucking ON The video shows my top set progression: ~ 230kg (1st set) ~ 235kg ~ 240kg (matching previous 1RM) ~ 245kg (NEW 1RM) ~ 250kg (no bueno) I gave absolutely everything I had to match and then beat my previous 1RM I really didn’t expect the 250kg to come back up BUT just earning the right to attempt such a thing was the icing on what was already an incredibly delicious cake #ASKAPEX #ApexStrengthSociety #StrengthThroughMovement #GrowthThroughKnowledge See more
