25.01.2022 Serious winemaker, serious wine. Not taking things too seriously with the promo video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=49&v=ffAZjNZxMXs

23.01.2022 Thrilled to support Variety through this initiative...

21.01.2022 Congratulations to all the successful winemakers at the Barossa Wine Show. Special mention goes to Saltram Wine Estate and Alex Mackenzie for winning the A.P. John Coopers Trophy for Best Shiraz with the 2017 S5 Barossa Shiraz. As you can tell from the photo, John McGovern was very excited to present the award. (Great photos from John Kruger)

20.01.2022 The Barossa Cellar will be a state-of-the-art wine museum and wine community hub that will educate a global audience about fine wines from the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley. And you can be a part of it... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rh8jMC9_CYY&feature=youtu.be

19.01.2022 Just came across this short video of Ray Costanzo, Golden Grove Estate winemaker, and Ben McNair, Stokehouse Q sommelier, talking Granite Belt Tempranillo. Ray says his home region (his backyard) is a perfect spot to grow Tempranillo. We're really proud to work with Ray as he continues to make cracking wine in south-west Queensland. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=a0_l3xCK_eY

18.01.2022 Have yourself a merry little Christmas

18.01.2022 Did you know... We've been evolving with the distilling industry in Australia and we have a range of Barossa Spirit Barrels. http://www.apjohn.com.au/products/barossa-spirit-barrel/

15.01.2022 Did you know... the John family has been making barrels in the Barossa since 1887? http://www.apjohn.com.au/our-history/

13.01.2022 Huge congratulations to everyone involved in the 2018 Barossa Wine Show. Well done to all the trophy and medal winners, especially Quin Wines for picking up the A.P. John Trophy for Best Shiraz. Big shout out to the wine show committee and the BGWA for organising a super show and entertaining presentation dinner. Photos thanks to John Kruger Photography

13.01.2022 A different aspect of the cooperage - as seen from the air. (This video is also the landing page for our new website - www.apjohn.com.au)

12.01.2022 Just found Shawn Kalleske loading some whole bunches of Moppa Shiraz into the fermenter. There's already some outstanding Cabernet from #V18 in the winery and it was a treat to taste through the range of different Shiraz.

12.01.2022 One of our most celebrated crops happens to be one of the most sensitive to environmental changes.

11.01.2022 Revisiting one of Milton Wordley's 'People of Wine' blog posts... this one was a chat with Peter John, our master cooper and managing director. http://winetenquestions.com.au/peter-john-a-p-john-coopers/

10.01.2022 Tomorrow's heroes. We've got three rising star barrels waiting for winemakers to draft them into their 2019 vintage line up. We've had a bit of fun with these. Du Bordelais Fine Grain Expression: Expected to start well up front and develop into a star performer across the mid-palate.... Northern Selection: A natural born defender of fine fruit flavours. Excels in cool climate conditions. Hungarian Select: Kicking goals across a range of varietals where an alternative skill set is required. 08.01.2022 Great to see some of our customers last night for a pre-Christmas drink. Beautiful people, weather, food and wine.

06.01.2022 Spotted a good looking ferment this morning at Soul Growers - Barossa Valley Winemakers. Old vine Shiraz from Marananga smells amazing.

05.01.2022 Continuing the history theme... This photo was taken on the same date as the first transatlantic telephone call was made between New York and London. It was a few days before the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences was created - the same Academy that hands out the little gold statues for best actor etc.... It was three months before the first Volvo rolled off the line in Gothenburg, Sweden. And four months ahead of the first time the Australian Parliament was convened in Canberra, having previously met in Melbourne. It was 91 years, two months and 16 days ago.
