06.01.2022 APOLLO BAY POST OFFICE NEWS Sylvia Rennick The Post Office has been operating under very challenging circumstances since Covid-19 government lockdown conditions were introduced on 22 March 2020.... Social-distancing and stay at home restrictions have contributed to a significant increase in on-line shopping and therefore parcel deliveries. On some days the number of parcels arriving at the Post Office awaiting customer distribution have made it difficult to get through the door! Perhaps this will be the new normal now that people are getting used to the convenience of on-line shopping and businesses have made significant long term investments in catering for home deliveries. I am very proud of our office based team (in the photo below from left to right - Daniela, Sylvia, Roz {our new recruit} and Graham) and our deliverers Des and Brendan, who despite the difficulties, have risen to the challenge and have continued to deliver a first class postal service to the Apollo Bay and surrounding communities. On behalf of the entire Apollo Bay Post Office team I would like to thank all of our customers for their patience and understanding throughout this very challenging period. Unfortunately it appears as though we will be continuing with the current restrictions for some time yet. Finally, I’d like to let our customers know that we’ve recently made some changes to the Post Office Shop layout. We will continue to sell favourite wool and associated supplies but I have decided to significantly reduce haberdashery stock by making big markdowns to our Zipper, Button, Ribbon and Lace items. So to all those crafties out there - come in and grab a bargain while they last. We also have a range of other clearance stock items for sale at heavily discounted prices.
