21.01.2022 Big thank you to Neal from Holistic Pet Vet for once again sharing his knowledge in integrative medicine with our veterinary nursing students.

20.01.2022 We are often asked, what will I learn in the Vet Nurse Pathway course? And the answer is lots! We give students an introduction into all the areas of a veterinary clinic and provide them with entry-level skills and knowledge so they can be a useful set of hands in a hospital. For example, one of the things we cover is foundation veterinary nursing reception skills. This gives graduates the confidence to speak with clients about a range of topics and also introduces them to t...he dynamics of a busy waiting room. If you know someone who is interested in Vet Nursing, this is the last chance for 2021 to start one of our intensive on-campus pathway courses. Graduates from our 10 week October intake of ACM20117 Certificate II in Animal Studies (Vet Nursing Pathway), will be able to apply for our 2022 intake for the national Veterinary Nursing qualification (ACM40418 Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing). 13.01.2022 If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. John Quincy Adams Thank you Katherine for being one of our leaders and sharing your inspiration. From AVT graduate to qualified veterinary nurse in a busy veterinary hospital. Since gaining my qualification through AVT I have been working in a variety of nursing roles in a veterinary clinic from surgery nurse, consultation nurse to receptionist. I have had the opportunity to... expand my interest in surgical nursing and anaesthetics and have worked in an array of different surgeries from routine procedures such as speys, castrates and dental procedures to emergency surgeries, exploratory laparotomy, cystotomy, splenectomy and amputations. I love veterinary nursing because every day is so different. You never know what is going to come through the door. You can be performing CPR on a dog one moment and then holding a kitten for its first vaccination the next". Katherine is a 2018 AVT online eLearning graduate. @ Applied Vocational Training
