19.01.2022 Embedding cultural perspectives and awareness into the service/ programme and learning environment can come in many different ways. Some of our dolls already wear traditional looking clothing however I believe that in this time when Aboriginal & TSI people are trying to get their culture back and teach their children and their children traditional language, song, stories, lore and art etc, its important to show our children and families contemporary first Australians and that Aboriginal history & culture is not limited to ancient history. To this end, I found and purchased authentic Aboriginal art fabric and have begun to make some contemporary dolls clothing for the children to dress the babies and dolls in.

The goal is to collect 2020 pairs of pre loved eye glasses to recycle and give the gift of clear vision to 2020 people who otherwise wouldnt have the opportunity to have glasses. You can make a real difference in someone elses life by simply donating glasses you & your family no longer use.

17.01.2022 Im not making new years resolutions for 2020. Instead I have a goal to help 2020 people with eyesight challenges, see more clearly. To achieve this goal my club & I need to collect 2020 pairs of used eyeglasses in 2020. From here theyll go to participating opticians who will grade, repair and refurbish them for Lions Clubs internationally to distribute to people in need in third world communities and remote communities here. If youd like to help, go through your cupboards and drawers and donate any no longer used glasses and/or spread the word at work, church, clubs. 10.01.2022 How to celebrate Australia Day divides the early childhood sector every year with very passionate opinions from all sides. This years weather & bushfire crisis dictated how we are and will continue to acknowledge Australia Day. We are choosing to do something positive to help the animals which are so much a large part of Australias identity and so very important to our nations first people. Today we made bat wraps. Later this week well make pouches and pouch liners for all sizes of animals being cared for by volunteers and wild life services around the country.

09.01.2022 A change in cast and crew has resulted in a Wed & Fri spot becoming available in the New Year. Expressions of interest for children 2 years old+ are being accepted. The existing children on those days are aged between 2 & 4.5years. April's Angels Family Day Care is registered with Kids At Home FDC ph 3040 0430, and have been the recipients of three Excellence awards, regionally 2010, 2019, 2020, Qld Educator of the year 2010 & 2019 & National Family Day Care Educator of the year 2019. Though our programme is play based we closely follow Qld Kindergarten Guidelines for Curriculum. I will be giving tours of our learning environment from Tuesday 29th December until Thursday 31st December, 2020. Call me on 0423 051 042 to arrange your tour.

01.01.2022 And the sweet potato harvest has begun! Each family took home about a kilo of freshly dug white skinned purple sweet potatoes yesterday and I expect todays group will as well. The new planting will begin next week with broccoli on our list of Spring/Summer crops :)
