24.01.2022 Business as usual....(with a few extra precautions in place, of course!) Guests had an awesome time snorkeling at Broughton Island this morning...water was clear and warm!

22.01.2022 Bonnie did some skipper training with Captain Jason today....and she did an awesome job!

22.01.2022 A pretty terrific morning on the ocean! During the 9am trip, we spotted a pair of humpbacks breaching and lobtailing on the horizon. When we caught up to the pair, one of the whales continued to breach following each 3 minute sounding dive. We caught up with the same duo again on the 11am cruise, for a repeat performance! 22.01.2022 Who’s EXCITED about getting back into the ocean this summer? Our Swim/Snorkel tours kick off next week...we can’t wait!!! Take a look at the colour of the water at Broughton Island today! For details - www.aquamarineadventures.com.au

22.01.2022 The flood gates have opened! We estimate we saw almost 50 whales on Friday afternoon... There were visible blows any and every way you looked. We were treated to a few breaches from 4 different humpbacks, but the star of the afternoon was a Giant Petrel which took a liking to Envision and guests onboard. Photos by @LisaSkeltonPhotography

22.01.2022 Happy Birthday to our Super Skipper Stephen! We hope you have a fabulous day, with lots of Dolphins!

21.01.2022 Wouldn’t it be AWESOME to see a Blue Whale?

21.01.2022 Patience paid off on Friday morning. After a long search, we located two pairs of mothers and calves just south of Fingal Lighthouse. One of the young calves was quite playful- spending long periods swimming belly up near the surface and throwing a number of lazy tail lobs. During our 1:30pm trip, we located a mother and calf along Bennetts Beach. The calf stole the show, breaching consistently during our time with them. Photos by @LisaSkeltonPhotography

20.01.2022 Clever Chameleon!

20.01.2022 The seals were pretty friendly today!

19.01.2022 Spectacular day out on the water!! The Dolphins gave everyone a thrill ...plenty of mum & baby Whales about ...and young Hollie & Billy took turns driving us home!

19.01.2022 We spent time with a group of 3 northbound whales during Sunday's 11am cruise, before catching up with some of our resident bottlenose dolphins. During the 1:30pm cruise, we racked up some miles, travelling to Broughton to meet up with an active juvenile humpback. Photos by @LisaSkeltonPhotography

18.01.2022 Blue skies, a flat ocean and plenty of friendly dolphin! Saturday was a cracker day to be on the water! Photos by @LisaSkeltonPhotography

18.01.2022 It was an action packed day on the water yesterday! During the 11am and 3:30pm trips we were treated to some spectacular sights, with mothers and calves popcorning out of a lumpy ocean. Photos by @LisaSkeltonPhotography

18.01.2022 Lots of fun for these guests on the Dolphin Watch Express cruise today! There were plenty of Dolphins seen...and then just for something different (and just because it was such a spectacular day!), the crew dropped anchor and everyone had a swim to the sandbar in the middle of the Bay!

15.01.2022 Happy Sunday! Who’s keen for today?

15.01.2022 The whales were running a little thin on Wednesday, but the fur seals were more than happy to step into the spotlight! We saw plenty of action on the rocks at Cabbage Tree Island. We also had a very special encounter with a raft of seals off Fingal Island who took advantage of our presence to score an easy meal- trapping schooling fish against our hull as they hunted. Photos by @LisaSkeltonPhotography

15.01.2022 The first day back in operation didn't disappoint! Whales were seen on both trips on Friday. Guests on our 1:30pm cruise were treated to looks at a pair of sleepy whales as well as a great pod of short beaked common dolphin. As we rounded Fingal Island on the last cruise of the day, we were greeted by this active yearling and it's mum. Photos by @LisaSkeltonPhotography

14.01.2022 The Dolphins were pretty friendly on our Dolphin Watch Express today!

14.01.2022 We checked in with a couple of pods of humpbacks on Sunday afternoon. We saw some flukes as animals executed sounding dives and were also treated to the '4 o'clock jumps' by a pair of humpbacks as they passed Fingal Island. Photos by @LisaSkeltonPhotography

14.01.2022 Broughton Island Swim

13.01.2022 Typically, when we talk about being 'mugged', the culprit is a humpback whale... not so today! This Southern Giant Petrel took a keen interest in Envision, wading beside the boat, checking the strenght of the hull and having a good look at everyone on board. Southern Giant Petrels are the largest petrel. They have a wing span of 1.5-2.1m! Over the summer, they nest in small colonies on Antarctic and subantarctic islands and in Australian Antarctic territory. During the winter, they can be spotted along our coast.

13.01.2022 Sea conditions were great on friday... so great that we snuck a 4th cruise into our schedule! We enjoyed some nice close passes on the 9am, 11am and 1:30pm trips, as some friendly pods checked out Envision. There was plenty of tail action through the day- plenty of flukes on display as animals dove and some great tail lobs. On the last trip of the day we met up with a group of three very active humpbacks who ticked off just about every surface behaviour you could expect to se...e. Photos by @LisaSkeltonPhotography

13.01.2022 We spent wednesday morning in the company of a southbound mother and her very active little calf. The calf performed breach after breach as the pair moved along our coastline. Photos by @LisaSkeltonPhotography

13.01.2022 Thanks to Sue for this awesome review of her Fingal Island & Lighthouse experience with us!! Had a great trip out to fingal lighthouse. Our guide was knowledgeable and interesting. Access to the top of the lighthouse was the highlight (so to speak) - sensational views, lots of history. The ruins of the cottages still show how tough life must have been for the keepers and families. Even had time for those who wished to have a dip at scenic shelly beach, or wander around t...o get some more photos. We look forward to going back again sometime. Absolutely recommend!!!! Book now to secure a spot on one of our upcoming tours...Wednesday 11th & Saturday 14th March. 3.5hr tour, departing at 10am. Adult, concession, child & family rates available. For bookings or more information, phone 4919 0469 or online www.aquamarineadventures.com.au

12.01.2022 We had a very special treat during Saturday's 1:30pm cruise; a pair of Southern-Right Whales! Southern-right whales were so named because they were considered the ‘right’ whale to hunt; these slow-swimming whales float when dead and provided large amounts of blubber and oil, making them a target of early land-based whalers. Their recovery has been much slower than that of the humpback whales, it’s estimated that around 12,000 southern-right whales are spread through the Sout...hern Hemisphere. During the 3:30pm cruise, we spent the afternoon with a tail lobbing juvenile. The youngster was spending lots of time at the surface and gave us great looks at the unique markings on the undersides of the flukes. Photos by @LisaSkeltonPhotography

12.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS to Jazmin, officially our newest Deckie! Jaz has just successfully completed and passed (with flying colours!) her Deckhands course....make sure you say Hi and Congrats next time you see her onboard! #deckiejaz #skipperbrian #allofourcrewareawesome #meetthecrew

12.01.2022 A few pics from the weekend's cruises. We snuck offshore on Saturday morning to catch up with some southbound humpbacks. Stong north-east winds kept us inside the Port over much of the weekend, in the company of our resident bottlenose dolphins. Photos by @LisaSkeltonPhotography

12.01.2022 A fabulous review for some of our fabulous crew! (P.S we don’t always get everybody wet!! ) On Tuesday just passed we went on the fast red boat for our whale watching cruise. My friends and my husband simply, had a blast . Peter and I sat up the front and our 3 ladies; Yvonne, Elaine and Sandra sat down the back, where Brian skipper told them they wouldn’t get sprayed too much. But he had other ideas!... When Jasmine, his side-kick noticed Peter was having to keep a hand on me and was therefore having difficulty with taking photos of the whales, she took hold of our iPad for the whole time we were out with the whales, taking photos for us. She was such a lovely, helpful girl. We greatly appreciate all the help she gave us. On the other hand what can we say about Skipper Brian.... Going out to the whales he tried very hard to get both Peter and I and another couple completely wet with spray and, not let anyone sitting out the back miss out, he got them all wet coming back in to port. Everyone on board were in stitches of laughter, including Jasmine and Brian. He had a ‘whale of a time’, totally enjoying himself. We could see his face with the widest grin and laughing along with all of us on board. WE HAD THE BEST CREW... Could you please pass on our sincere thanks for a fantastic whale cruise. The whales also performed wonderfully for us and it created such a unique experience. - Jenni and Peter

11.01.2022 Boxing Day done right! We had a great morning snorkelling in the clear waters of Coal Shaft Bay at Broughton Island. Lots of Wobbegongs, cuttlefish and a great variety of fish throughout the cove. Photos by @LisaSkeltonPhotography

11.01.2022 A great trip to Fingal Island this week! So much history, and of course, those incredible views!

10.01.2022 Some of the sights from last week's cruises. We've swapped out our winter woolies for wetsuits. The waters of Cabbage Tree Island and Broughton Island are warm and inviting! Photos by @LisaSkeltonPhotography

09.01.2022 Dolphins, dolphins, dolphins! We encountered large pods - between 30 and 100 dolphins on every trip! The dolphins were actively hunting yellowtail scad, with large schools of the fish busting up all through the bay. Photos by @LisaSkeltonPhotography

09.01.2022 Sophia had a go at steering the boat home today...she did a great job! #portstephens #nelsonbay #visitnsw #tourismnsw #whalewatching #dolphins #nature #wild #wildlife #backpackingaustralia #holidays #holidayswithkids #schoolholidays #family #familyfun #skipperlife #marinelife #envision #aquamarine #adventures

08.01.2022 The situation involving COVID-19 continues to evolve rapidly. We value the health of our employees and their families as well as our customers and are fully complying with the NSW Government comprehensive shutdown of non-essential services. Aquamarine Adventures will not be operating any cruises before 17th April, and we will re-evaluate at this time. Guests who have made advanced reservations will be contacted to organize a refund on their booking, or to reschedule where pos...sible. We are passionate about Port Stephens and its wildlife and love to share it with our guests each day. Cancelling tours is not easy, but we all need to do our part to slow the spread of this virus. This crisis is tough on many small businesses and we appreciate everyone out there who has asked about how they can support small business at this time. If you are thinking about booking an experience (with us or any local operators) consider booking ahead of time or purchasing a gift certificate. Stay safe, be kind and wash your hands! We appreciate all the love and support and look forward to being back on the water when it is safe to do so! Jason & Bronny Aquamarine Adventures.

08.01.2022 Yew! We enjoyed great encounters with common and bottlenose dolphin on Wednesday's trips. As the north-east winds picked up through the day, so did the whales! Photos by @LisaSkeltonPhotography

06.01.2022 Last night's sunset was delightful!

06.01.2022 ......when you’re Whale Watching, but the Dolphins steal the show!

06.01.2022 We’re back on the water tomorrow after a few days of big winds have kept us on land! Looking forward to getting back out there with the Whales....! (and for something different, there’s still a few spots available on our Fingal Island & Lighthouse Tour - this Wednesday 30th September)

06.01.2022 It's time to get a whale on!!! We will be recommencing cruises from Friday 5th June! The humpbacks have begun their migration along our coast as they head for the warm waters of the Great Barrier Reef- we can't wait to get amongst the action. The safety of guests and crew continues to define how we move forward, so you may see some changes onboard our little red boat.... At this time, we will be limiting cruises to just 8 guests, with 3 cruises operating daily at 11am, 1:30pm and 3:30pm. Take advantage of these incredibly intimate numbers! Check-in is contactless and social distancing will be enforced throughout cruises. Extra cleaning of high contact surface areas will occur between cruises and a 'hand cleaning' station is available for guest use. We're also happy to announce that we can continue to offer discounted rates for families, students and seniors. https://aquamarineadventures.com.au/whales/

05.01.2022 Engine checks ahead of our season start next week! With a humpback in the bay, how could we resist??? This little one came into the Port on Thursday and stayed in the bay overnight. Escorted through the bay by Maritime, the young humpback made its journey back towards offshore waters during the afternoon, but not before chucking a few breaches, tail lobs and lunges... reminding us whales don't need much water to execute these behaviours... at one point there was less than 3m of water under this little fella! Photos by @LisaSkeltonPhotography

05.01.2022 Saturday afternoon, we were with Humpbacks until last light. There's something very therapeutic about watching whales in front of a setting sun.

04.01.2022 Private Cruise Dolphins Champagne Proposal She said "YES!" Congratulations Joel & Courtney ...we loved being able to help make your special day awesome!

03.01.2022 Port Stephens isn’t doing too badly in the COVID war....so we’ve made the decision to try and help keep it that way! We’ve decided to cancel all Cruises from tomorrow right through until Monday 10th August...at which time, we will re-evaluate. We hope that things settle quickly....we really do love being able to show visitors to the area our beautiful Bay and give them the opportunity to see our magnificent Whales!

02.01.2022 Our guests this afternoon were treated to Whales AND the offshore Dolphins....so much fun!!

01.01.2022 The rain held off on Wednesday morning, making for a great conditions offshore. We visited three different pods, enjoyed a few close passes and some erratic breaches. Photos by @LisaSkeltonPhotography.

01.01.2022 Heads or tails?.... Wednesday was all about tails. We spent the 11am trip in the company of a very active pair of mothers and calves before checking in with a large pod of common dolphin. Our whales were a little more relaxed during the 1:30pm cruise, we spotted a number of southbound pods, all on cruise control. During the 3:30pm cruise, we found a pod of 4 active whales; we saw a few breaches as we approached the group, before the tail action commenced. Photos by @LisaSkeltonPhotography
