23.01.2022 Mahi mahi skull size comparison to an adult Giant Gourami.

23.01.2022 Just done this nice Red Emperor. Great skull to show the many bones involved and the anatomy of a fish skull. Happy weekend everyone :)

22.01.2022 This Red Emperor skull turned out nice. Went well through all the processes but lost a lot of teeth so might have to visit the fish markets to get a new set of dentures for him

22.01.2022 Some teeth from another skull i started. What species would this be?

21.01.2022 Couple more little wolf herrings finished.

20.01.2022 Been juggling a lot of fish trying to get a few finished. While waiting for glue to dry i started this frostfish that had been sitting on the shelf for a couple of years. Nice quick easy one to put togeather.

18.01.2022 Diamond Trevally skull. Very Interesting skull but as with a lot of fish skulls it doesn't show their beautiful colours that you would see on them in the wild.

17.01.2022 African Tigerfish number 6 back together again .

14.01.2022 This Blue Marlin was cleaned and the bones left in the sun for two years. (Not by me) then it was going to be thrown away. So i said I'll have a go at putting it togeather. A couple of pieces were missing but the most frustrating part was finding a glue that the bones would stick too. Finally done and now ready to hang up. Looks better now than being thrown away.

12.01.2022 This is Brian. Sat on my shelf for a few years in pieces and now Ive finally been able to give him a new life

12.01.2022 This Giant Gourami didn't want to go back togeather again with out a struggle. He's going in to a frame when he gets back to his home.

10.01.2022 Barracuda skull. To anyone thinking of doing their own fish skulls this big barracuda skull is a good example of why you shouldn't use heat to clean the flesh off bones. I dry my fish heads in front of a fan for two days before i give them to my beetles. This was dried in the summer and i didn't realise how hot the days were. Turned out the fan was blowing the hot air on to the head which resulted in that small amount of heat cooking the grease in to bones. I soaked the b...ones for a year and a half in all the different chemicals i new of to get the grease out and it wouldn't come out. There fore i could never get it white. The skull its self smells nice. Like washing powder so that tells me it can't be degreased anymore. That is a good sign. Other than that the skull turned out good and I got to add its gills to make it more complete. Gills are a big challenge and not always successful. See more

09.01.2022 Been doing lots of work on fish and haven't come close to finishing any.
