25.01.2022 Processed photos from today's dive. Only got a couple of photos worth anything. I particularly enjoyed hanging around the boat in 20m half way, diving in the blue and filming / watching the bubbles.

25.01.2022 Armistice day 2020 11/11 1100 Lest we forget. 102 yrs ago World War 1 ended. Today we remember those who died on all sides and in the conflicts that followed.

25.01.2022 22nd November 2020 - Rottnest dive with HYC Divers to Armstrong Reef and Roe Reef. Visibility was 15-20m on the first dive and 10-15m on the second dive after the seabreeze came up. Only a few still photos today and nothing particularly stunning but more time was spent on video e.g. caught Dave's interaction with a big ray on video but it left before I could get stills.

25.01.2022 Today's rush photos from dive 1 "tea pot rock" just north west of steves spot and dive2 PJ promenade (part of crystal palace reef system). Posted while still at sea fresh and unprocessed you can still smell the salt...

21.01.2022 Here are the processed photos from our dive last week at Steve's spot on the 25th Oct....

20.01.2022 My Latest Aquatic Australia VLOG Series video - This dive was on Australia Day 2021, this day also marked my 5th Birthday as an Australian Citizen, a special day for me. Me, Gareth and Homer took my RIB our to dive at the Opera House Cave. Sadly there were no shakrs there today but it was still a great dive. The Aquatic Australia VLOG series is a video log of the dive and the aim is to tell a story, we don't know what story it will reveal itself to us either on the day or in... the edit suite - then we try to use only video footage FROM that dive (occasionally no more than a small clip from elsewhere or a map) to tell the story, those are the two challenges 1. Find a Story, 2. Tell it with what you've got! https://youtu.be/4HHzLbFm0Yc

20.01.2022 20th February 2021 - My latest video just completed. Last Saturday a group of us dived at the Shark Cave from Blue Destiny. We had a blast. I was just using my gopro since I was looking after a group, but I had attached my new laser measuring rig and I couldn't get Dr. Evil out of my head so I called the video "Sharks With Frickin laser beams" If you have good videos of Grey Nurse Sharks where you can clearly see the spots, please submit them to Alex a Marine Biologist who i...s studying this, or you can PM me and I'll make sure the details get to her also. I won't post her contacts here now as I'd better check with her first for privacy. https://youtu.be/ZTfyol2vzb0

19.01.2022 18th April 2021 - Final Processed pictures from the day's diving at Jackson Rock and Straggler's reef "Arches" with Chris and Volker. Previously only published... the raw unprocessed "rushes" straight from the camera. The site had impressive canyons, Craters and caverns in a maze. Very interesting site. See more

15.01.2022 25th October 2020 - Steve's Spot and Inner park - "Tall Caves" - My latest Video Log or VLOG from diving in Australia. The aim of the Aquatic Australia VLOG Series is to find and show a story of one day's diving using only video from that day (with sometimes a short clip or still from another dive). Despite the swell I got some reasonably smooth video and it makes a nice chill relaxing movie about 10 mins in length just right to enjoy over a tea break with a good cuppa.... https://youtu.be/mhAmEcITq_M See more

13.01.2022 Cast your mind back to the early spring - September 12th 2020 - I've just finished editing the film. This was my first dive of the new 2020/21 Dive season. Visibility was pretty poor and there was not much to see but we did see some nice soft corals and anemones (White is soft coral, yellow are related anemones).

13.01.2022 Saturday 20th Feb dived with Perth Ocean Diving leading a group of 8 divers and doing a little AOW training. We dived shark cave from Blue Destiny Here is a little teaser with a couple of "rush" clips full vlog coming later. https://youtu.be/LqUvKFWKT7U

11.01.2022 My latest Aquatic Australia VLOG series video where i try to tell a story using just the video from that dive. This one is from 16th Jan 2021 Doughnut cave and Crystal Palace caves South Rottnest and features lots of wrasses, skippy, big stingrays and some nice caves. Please like and share and hit subscribe in youtube to join the channel and get notifications when new videos come online.... Feel free to ask questions in the comments. https://youtu.be/g6jX5z8aqvs

10.01.2022 I found a poem I wrote about an Angelfish in 2009, see if you like it...

10.01.2022 2nd Jan 2021 - Diving Rottnest with Blaton Jack. Dive 1 - no sounder, working just off GPS on a site only on club gps nothing on navionics. Turned out to be all sand. Keith and i came back on board with 110 to 130 bar. Dive 2 - Grouper reef. New tank. Looong shallow dive, eagle ray, lots of caves. Lovely... Dive 3 - As above using up my 110 bar. Nice 30min dive. Rush photos not final images.....

08.01.2022 Today's photos from diving at Brian's Bommies (near Centaur) and Rose Reef (just NW of Centaur) XMAS Eve Morning. Keith Williams

07.01.2022 Spotlight - one of my favorite photos from Roe Reef Rottnest Island, Western Australia last weekend. I love these orange white barred boxfish or "basketball fish" or "pumpkinfish" as i nickname them. Here he looks out of his large cave curiously at the diver and his videolights looking in.

06.01.2022 Diving at Centaur outer and South Reefs 3rd July - Two new sites I named Canada Reef (2 days after Canada Day) and America Reef (day before 4th July). Conditions were lovely, although I had some troubles with focus and getting good shots on the day with some sediment stirred up on bottom. Still a lovely dive though, but none of the photos are useable much beyond facebook they make for a nice record of some pretty colourful fish to show my viewers what it looks like down there off WA (Rottnest is prettiest but Marmion Marine Park is still rather nice).

06.01.2022 Incredible day's diving with Dave, Liz, Chris and Sharkyjones. The group dived from RIB "Fuzzy Duck" callsign "Grey Nurse"at the Opera House NE of Rottnest. We saw 5 Grey Nurse sharks at least (I may have had a 6th but with 4 in sight at once and one on my rear left with shortly after one on rear right (i can't be sure it wasn't the same one) it was hard to keep track. BRILLIANT dive, great viz and soo many fish schooling in the caves. Diving in two waves of two, each buddy p...air were the only divers in the sea for miles around. Great dive to remember as our last dive of 2020 and a great finish to a difficult year.

06.01.2022 Last week we dived from Balaton Jack but only to local dives not to Rottnest. The visibility was stunning but sadly there wasn't much to see in terms of marine life, however the lobster fishos bagged out and had a great dive. However the good vis was a good chance to try out my new wide angle lens.

05.01.2022 Dave Streader interacts with a large Bull ray.

05.01.2022 Saturday 5th June 2021 - 8 divers made a local dive. The weather was lovely about 21C air temp (although it started pretty cold it warmed up) and a water temp... of as high as 22C with clear water down to about 10m then a thermocline to about 19C and lower vis. The nice clear water in the upper layers was due to the Leeuwin current sweeping down from the North. Our first dive was on the outer reef wall West of Centaur we tried a new site I've had in my GPS for a while to look at. It was a nice dive similar to Foss' Folly and other reefs along the outer wall. For the 2nd site I chose Rose Reef as an old favorite and one where we can always find a nice dive and again it didn't disappoint lots of caves, a school of skippies, an octopus, a scorpionfish. With a lot of low visibility around recently inshore we aimed to go as far offshore as our budget would allow. Ironically despite being further offshore the visibility was probably best at Rose reef further inshore. The first dive was quite calm but by the second dive the swell started to mount and while a lovely dive we were thrown about a bit underwater. Only one of us was cray fishing today Paul and he got himself two nice crays for dinner. All in all it was a nice day out. See more

05.01.2022 What a great way to end a pretty grim year - New Year's eve dive at the Opera House Caves, NE Rottnest Island, WA - Lizzie and I became the last humans to dive the cave in 2020! A group of 4 mates dived using my RIB. The Dive was for WACSS - WACSS - West Australia Citizen Shark Science informal group. Chris and Dave went down first while Lizzie and I stayed as surface cover, then we went down in the second wave. Each wave saw 5 (maybe 6 - its hard to keep count when they are... moving and all around) Grey Nurse Sharks. It was beautiful. On exiting Lizzie swam up to the skylight through a cloud of small fish, she didn't see as she entered the cloud a Shark also entered from the opposite direction and it hadn't seen her either - The reaction was partially caught on film and lets just say they both got a suprise! It really shows the placid nature of these sharks in that even in this ACCIDENTAL close encounter there was no hostility from the sharks., The experience was relaxing, mellow, exciting and beautiful all at once! The Aquatic Australia VLOG series is a video log of the dive and the aim is to tell a story, we don't know what story it will reveal itself to us either on the day or in the edit suite - then we try to use only video footage FROM that dive (occasionally no more than a small clip from elsewhere or a map) to tell the story, those are the two challenges 1. Find a Story, 2. Tell it with what you've got! https://youtu.be/asKiD9E7NXk

04.01.2022 I've just finished editing my latest Dive VLOG video from 5th June 2021. We decided to try a new site I'd been long wanting to dive then go with an old favorite second dive - its fun to try explore. Previously we've found, especially with small groups that in winter we often get divers more willing to try a bit of exploration. It turned out to be quite a nice site actually. I named the site "D-Day Reef" as I often name sites after the day I dive them, 5th june was originally... to have been D-day but it was delayed a day to the 6th. Our 2nd dive was on Rose reef, an old favorite. https://youtu.be/JsRNgBmpXdE

03.01.2022 Unprocessed photos from today's dive aka "Rushes"... Sean Perkins had a monster cray also photo of him under boat. We found a splash drone floating worth $2600. Great caverns

03.01.2022 These are the processed pictures from last Sunday's dive on Balaton Jack. Several videos are in the works for the last few dives, watch this space.

03.01.2022 Here are the processed photos from our dive the week before last at Crystal Palace Rottnest on 17th October 2020 with my buddy Chris also filming. Crystal palace is a famous dive site on the centre south of Rottnest riddled with caves. Last year I saw my first sea dragon here, alas no sea dragons this time but found two really nice caves.

01.01.2022 Our new video for Saturday's dive with Hillarys Yacht Club some nice footage of a harlequin bass and cuttlefish. https://youtu.be/OPZTjqc12zU
