25.01.2022 And whilst on the subject of water features, heres another.

25.01.2022 Aquavic's "New Millennium" Ionisers. If it's water, we can ionise it, and lately, we're doing more and more water features. Check out the latest - this modest ANZAC water feature not too far from our office. A simple but very moving testimonial to those who participated in hostilities from the Boer War through to the present day. "Lest We Forget" indeed.

25.01.2022 What a difference a day makes. Compare this pic of our New Zealand agent's ionised pool with the "work in progress" pool which was posted on 18th. April. If you're a New Zealander and thinking about adding a pool, or if you already have a pool but not in love with the cost of complex chemicals, have a chat with Byron Ross. His details are to be found under "Our Agents" on our Home Page. Or drop us a line at Head Office.

24.01.2022 Wishing you all a Happy New Year - and what better time to introduce you to an exciting development. After 2 decades of sterling service, our old workhorse, the New Millennium Series II, has been pensioned off and replaced by our new from-the-ground-up Series 3 ioniser. One glance confirms its New Millennium heritage, but the most obvious difference is the long-awaited digital time clock, a feature which was requested by many. And with it's on board battery, the Series 3 is now immune to power surges and blackouts. Want to know more? Visit our website www.aquavic.com.au

24.01.2022 If you've ever had any doubts about the energy savings to be had from our Aquavic Fresh Water Ionisers, check out the comparison chart below. Need more info? Give us a call.

24.01.2022 Dear customers: If youve been having trouble contacting us, weve been NBNd - which stands for No Bloody Network. Thank you very much Malcolm "Fibre to the Node" Turnbull. We could be forgiven for believing that OPTUS were doing their best to drive us out of business. Over the past six weeks, weve been visited by no less than three (3) different technicians, spent many hours on the phone, have been asked many times had we turned it off and on by operators insisted on gabb...ling at a million miles an hours - lost internet and landline. Zilch. Fortunately, we have a Telecommunications Ombudsman. One phone call was enough. And as if by miracle, after 6 frustrating weeks, we are now back on he air and back in business. But.... Just to add insult to injury, today, March 6th. 2019, we received an email - part copy attached. Note the spiel and the dates. So be warned. If youre not yet connected to the NBN, delay it for as long as possible - and keep the Telecomms Ombudsmans number handy throughout. See more

24.01.2022 Whenever we come across somebody either the process of installing a new pool, or toying with the idea of installing one (with Aquavic Ioniser of course) one piece of advice that we always offer is to keep a photographic record of all pipework, wiring etc. You never know when it will come in handy.

23.01.2022 What a marvellous bit of natural engineering. Can you imagine the amount of work that went into that - only to have to start again the next night. Pity it was right over the steps of the company's fresh water ionised pool. New Millennium, of course.

23.01.2022 Australia Post, youre not improving! Have just received two emails 1 minute apart "Your delivery is coming today." and "Your delivery is unlikely to arrive today." Is it any wonder that theyve never been called upon to organise a booze-up in a brewery.

22.01.2022 Memo to all broad-acre wheat famers in the Wimmera / Mallee / Little Dessert regions of NW Victoria: If you're wondering where all of your paddocks have gone after the recent dust storms, take a look at this pool filter which was cleaned just 24 hours earlier - and the water sample which came from it. It will give you a pretty good idea where some of it has gone. Multiply that by the many hundreds of outdoor pools and it must add up to tens of thousands of tonnes of valuable farmland.

21.01.2022 In a country where groundwater salinity is an ever-increasing problem, here are approximately 80 bags - or 2 tonnes - of very good reasons for changing your salt chlorinated pool to an Aquavic "New Millennium" fresh water ioniser.

21.01.2022 Unlike the residents of Millionaires Row on the Swan River, we cannot promise you a pot of gold at the end of your rainbow, but we can guarantee that youll be laughing all the way to the bank when you replace your energy-sapping Chlorine Gas Generator - aka Salt Chlorinator - with one of our Australian-made fresh water low energy New Millennium pool algaecide and sanitising systems. Want to know more? Check out our website: www.aquavic.com.au

20.01.2022 Unlike swimming pools where the water is continuously recirculating, and maintaining the requisite levels of copper (and silver) ions is therefore not an issue, the "Holy Grail" of potable water ionising is to achieve and maintain free copper levels to a specific set point - on a "once through" or single pass basis. In recent times, a noticeable increase in the number of enquiries for a potable water ioniser from EU countries and the Middle East was the catalyst for Aquavic's... R & D team to swing into action, and, as is often the case when confronted with seemingly impossible problems, the solutions was simple, so very simple. No water meters or expensive process monitors required. The result was our "Centurion" Potable Water Ioniser, a product that now arguably reinforces Aquavic as the front runner in the RWI (Recreational Waters Industry) and commercial ionisation in the Asia Pacific region. For further information on this exciting development, please contact Aquavic Head Office: ph. +61 3 9723 4223 or by email: [email protected]

20.01.2022 "One picture speaks a thousand words." Is it any wonder purveyors of expensive pool chemical cocktails dislike ionisers. Pic below is the company's ionised pool in mid winter. The pool pump is set down to 30% (150 Watts) and is running for 15 minutes x 3 days per week just to keep the surface skimmed. Non chlorine oxidiser 25 grams / week. Out of pocket costs are negligible and the pool water looks like this. Install an Aquavic Ioniser in your pool and you too, could be smiling all the way to the bank.

19.01.2022 At last, after a very long, cold and wet winter, the sun has finally found its way out from behind the clouds. We realise that it will probably disappear again soon, but in the meantime, the rhubarb and the pool owners are make the most of it. We even ran the solar for several hours to begin the process of warming up the concrete shell in anticipation of a long, hot summer. BTW, the rhubarb is watered with drinking quality ionised water taken directly from the pool. Try doing that with water from a salt chlorinated pool!

19.01.2022 Speaks for itself.

19.01.2022 BEWARE OF PRICE GOUGING ON NON-CHLORINE OXIDISERS! Yet another anti-ioniser conspiracy? Over recent weeks we have received a number of reports that the price of 10 kg buckets of non-chlorine "shock" / oxidisers that so many of our customers use in their ionised pools over summer, has suddenly increased from around $15.00 per kg to a whopping $26... .00 per kg. If this is your experience, please drop us a line and we'll discuss supplies at a price that doesn't break the bank.

19.01.2022 After a decade of producing our old pattern flowcells, we thought it was time for a change - and change we did. The pic below shows our new pattern which is available in 40-mm of 50-mm variants. Apart from the obvious difference in the size of the of "slip fit" sockets, both version use the same components ie electrodes, clear cover with "O" ring seal, and locking ring. Both versions are now ex-stock.

18.01.2022 Aquavic's doing what it can to balance to trade between Asia and Australia. Yet another of our Aussie-made ionisers is on its way to SE Asia to join its siblings in an exclusive resort in Malaysia.

18.01.2022 Problems are only solutions in disguise. If you've ever tried to remove the cartridge from a big filter, not only do they weigh a ton when wet, but if you haven't got a lot of headroom, the chances of a back injury are high. A customer well known to us, found himself in precisely that situation - and came up with this solution. Not a thing of beauty but works with nil risk of a back injury.

18.01.2022 Doing our best to promote wildlife conservation. Lots of love to found in pools fitted with an Aquavic "New Millennium" fresh water ionisers.

18.01.2022 And just when you thought it couldn't get any better..... The Sunset Valley Holiday Houses, Langkawi in Malaysia, is running one of our New Millennium Series II ionisers. Check them out on: www.sunsetvalleyholidayhouses.com

17.01.2022 If your outdoor pool is contaminated with Mallee Dust, you have several options. One is to turn off your pump / pumps for a week or so, allow it to settle naturally, vac to waste, and top up as necessary. But you'll use a lot of water. The next is to speed up the settling-out process by floccing, waiting several days, vac to waste, and top up as necessary. But you'll use a lot of water. The next is to "bite the bullet" dump the lot, take the opportunity to do some maintenance, check out the hydrostatic valve, give the shell a high pressure wash, refill with fresh / tank water, and start again. We've chosen option three (see pic) and will be swimming again in several days. BTW, we did offer the 65,000L of water to the local CFA but they chose to ignore the offer.

17.01.2022 Australia Post, youre not getting any better. A package posted from our Head Office in Croydon to Sydney used to be delivered within 48 hours - sometimes within 24! It would now appear to have blown out to 4 business days - and thats to a water front Point Piper address. No, it wasnt Malcolm and Lucys house, but you can imagine the kerfuffle if it was. SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

16.01.2022 When the dust has settled, and settle it will, it would be an excellent time to reassess the wisdom of having damned near everything made off shore. We at Aquav...ic have always resisted that move, and are proud to confirm that we have supported local industries by designing and manufacturing our products right here in Victoria. Be Australian - buy Australian and regain our manufacturing independence. See more

16.01.2022 Some would give an arm and a leg to swim in a low chemical fresh water ionised pool. Being devoid of arms, this little chap has already given a leg. Only 7 to go.

15.01.2022 "Do unto others..." And yet another very happy customer. It's comments like this that make it all worthwhile.

15.01.2022 Aquavics Australian made "New Millennium" ionisers are very much at home in indoor pools - and even more so when theyve just replaced the original chlorine gas generator" aka salt chlorinator. This magnificent indoor pool in Melton is our latest conversion. No more carcinogenic chlorine for this happy customer. Fresh water all the way.

14.01.2022 An inground pool with an Aquavic Fresh Water Ioniser is hard to beat. But if you've already had 5+ years of drought and your pool is on the edge of Victoria's North West Desert / Mallee - and it happens to be bucketing down - it doesn't get any better than that. All boxes ticked.

14.01.2022 A Happy New Year to all from the ever-helpful staff at Aquavic. A Aquavic begins its second decade of ionising, and the new season gets under way, once again, we're a tad puzzled as to why pool owners continue to take samples to their local pool shop when the testing of an ionised pool is such a simple, straight forward exercise. You don't need a complex computer print-out to analyse your ionised pool water. Leave that to the owners of salt pools. AlI takes is a basic test k...it and about five minutes of your time - and it's not rocket science. So, in an effort to to get your season off to a flying start, we're offering a stock standard 4 in 1 test kit (TA, pH, acid demand and oxidiser) and a copper specific test kit for only $45.00 GST included + postage. (RRP is approximately $65.00). Phone, fax (yes, we still have one) email or SMS your orders and we'll do the rest.

13.01.2022 Over the years weve come to accept that access to pumps, filters etc. can at times be a tad challenging. Pictured here is arguably one of the most difficult, with all the vital parts housed in a garden locker. All in favour of weather-proofing, but access was definitely an issue. But we still managed to replace the existing CCG - Chlorine Gas Generator aka "salt chlorinator" - with one of our next generation low energy Aquavic Series 3 Ionisers. Yet another victory for fresh water pools.

12.01.2022 Australia Post must be the greatest disincentive to anybody either planning to start a business, or to those already doing so. Herewith yet another example of their dismal performance. Parcel lodged over the counter Main Street Croydon Post Office on March 6th. Destination Bendigo, a major Regional Centre, 190 klms all up. 21 days later and it is still "IN TRANSIT". I'd be willing to bet some pretty good money that the recently departed CEO didn't have to wait 21 days for his $5.5M salary and "bonus". A DISMAL PERFORMANCE BY ANYBODY'S MEASURE. Not happy? You betcha.

12.01.2022 Although still very much involved with swimming pool ionisers, our move into the industrial scene is gathering momentum. Not only have we had to rethink the electronics of the "front end" but also electrodes housings, the flowcells. Traditionally, these units were PVC or ABS, but the higher pressures and temperatures associated with industrial applications was the catalyst for the move to stainless steel as opposed to "plastic". The flowcell pictured here is but one recent example of a "bespoke" fabricated stainless steel variant, a very far cry from its swimming pool cousins.

12.01.2022 And whilst on the subject of water features, here's another.

12.01.2022 If you were one of many who awoke last week to find your outdoor pool contaminated with Mallee Dust, you no doubt wondered what to do to clear it. Firstly you could turn off your pump/s for a week or so, allow it to settle, vac to waste and top up with fresh water. But this would take a lot of backwashing, a lot of time, and use a lot of water. Secondly, you could flocc the pool, turn off your pump/s for a week, allow it to settle, vac to waste and top up if necessary. But t...his would take a lot of backwashing, a lot of time, and use a lot of water. Our recommendation is to "bite the bullet" and dump the lot and take the opportunity to high pressure wash the shell, perhaps a tad of"below the water line" maintenance - ie lighting, hydrostatic valve etc, - refill with fresh, and Bob's your uncle. Not only do you finish up with a pool of chemical-free water, but the down time is just a couple of days. Because your pool over time becomes an increasingly complex chemical soup, we recommend dumping the water every 5 years anyway. The Mallee dust simply reinforced that view. Caution: For inground pools, If choosing to dump the water, check the level of the water table outside the pool. To ignore this is to risk having the shell rise up out of the ground. Unusual, but it can happen. If in doubt, call our office for a chat.

08.01.2022 We're looking forward to sunny days by the pool again when this crisis ends. In the meantime, we're focusing on what we can do keep the water clean and safe. Fortunately, as owners of ionised pool know, that is not very much at all. Take a moment to check your water chemistry now, and you'll be swimming again before you know it. Not sure where to start? Drop us a line and we'll guide you through the finer points. But above all, stay safe.

07.01.2022 New pool installs usually take on the appearance of a bomb site - and the new pool of our New Zealand agent, Byron Ross, is no different. Although in this instance, this bomb site in a very attractive North Island location. It doesn't take a lot of imagination to see the finished pool with the coping tiles in place and the landscaping finished. Watch his space for a pic of the finished article. In the meantime, all New Zealand enquiries should be directed to Byron on 021 257 5343.
