19.01.2022 Hi ABA Members, You should have received a detail email of an update on COVID-19 and other information. Here is a summary:- We held an online committee meeting on June 1, 2020.... The current Autumn 2020 season has been cancelled for both Basketball and Futsal at both senior and junior levels, along with Little Redbacks. Fees have been recorded as a credit for use when we return to competition. The Netball season has also been cancelled with premiers and runners up as per the final ladder positions. Team captains have been advised. RETURN OF TOPS We require the return of tops at your earliest convenience. The Ararat Fitness Centre has kindly agreed to be a collection point, please deliver all ABA uniforms for basketball and futsal to the centre during the following restricted opening hours:- Monday-Friday 8-9am, 12-2pm, 5-7pm, Saturday 8-10am or Sunday 1-3pm. There is a tub to put them in at reception and a staff member will tick your child’s name off the list. Unreturned tops will incur a $30 fee. Squad uniforms should be kept until further advise on team photos. We will continue to keep you updated on the easing on restrictions and the return to sport for the ABA. 17.01.2022 "The Hontondo Homes Ararat Redbacks" men's CBL squad has commenced training for the upcoming season. Training is Monday and Wednesday@ Ararat Fitness Centre 7pm till 8.30 pm. Strict covid rules in compliance with BVC and the Fitness centre are in place. 16.01.2022 WE ARE BACK REGISTRATION PROCESS... Please visit our website https://araratbasketballfutsal.com/ to register for our Autumn 2021 Season due to start the week of February 1, 2021. You can register for Junior and Senior Basketball and Futsal Competitions along with Little Redbacks (Basketball). A Girls Basketball Competition is again on offer, numbers will determine if it runs. At this stage Netball will not be running until possibly later in the year. Once in the website click on the "Register Here" link for the required sport, which will take you to the respective Registration process. When you get into PlayHQ for Basketball look for the "Register" tab. Please note for children that were born in 2003, that we have adjusted the age groups to allow them to play for the Autumn 2021 season. 16.01.2022 Basketball Victoria has made the decision to suspend Basketball Victoria related programs, events and leagues from now March 13, until further notice. This includes ALL VJBL games, Big V games and the Country Championships that were to be held in Ballarat this weekend. As a result of this suspension from Basketball Victoria, the Ararat Basketball Association has also been made to make the decision to suspend all game play for basketball, netball & futsal until further notice.... As this is a rapidly evolving situation, we would like to thank everyone for their understanding and patience as we work through this difficult period. This is a decision we don't take lightly and want to reassure all members of the Ararat Basketball Association that we will continue to work with the Victorian Government and other health authorities to ensure the health and wellbeing of our players, coaches, referees and staff are maintained. We have been notified that many surrounding associations are adhering to the same protocol. 14.01.2022 We need more 2020 registrations for Senior and Junior Futsal Currently we need another team to run a Un 16 season, as we only have enough for 3 teams which is not enough for competition. Also we have only 1 team entered for Senior Futsal, so we are needing another 3 to run that this season.
