18.01.2022 Meet George and Diane, residents at Arcare Peregian Springs in Queensland. Earlier this week, George reminisced on the first time he met the love of his life, Diane in Fiji. George was working for Qantas at the time and Diane was in Fiji to play netball. Diane flew back to Sydney and not long after she received a phone call from George who asked her out for a date in 1973. They were married within twelve months and the rest was history.Since then, they have explored and trave...lled the world together. Both George and Diane continue to spend quality time together in the activities organised by the lifestyle team at Arcare Peregian Springs. For many of our residents, this week has been an opportunity to celebrate the varied and diverse love stories that exist within our community Over at Arcare Slacks Creek, resident Pat tells us that she met her husband Lans at a popular dance club named Cloudland that was located at the top of Bowen Hills. He was a young constable at that time and we just clicked,’... He offered to take me home, but I said no and that I wanted nothing to do with him. But he insisted and I eventually said yes. My husband insisted that whatever we did, we did it together! Pat shared. After getting married in 1963, they had three kids together named Mark, Donna and Paul. I am very proud of my children, they each have three children of their own, so I have nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The team at Arcare Slacks Creek are thrilled to have Pat as part of our community, fostering an environment where family, friends and loved ones can meet and relationships continue to flourish. #loveisintheair #valentinesweek #arcareagedcare #caregivers
