23.01.2022 HOW DO SPACES MAKE US FEEL? // STEM PROJECT COLLAB Progress snaps of the work Deb from @brownfalconer is doing with Stirling East Primary School Rm 3 Reception class! Some background from Deb:... // There is a covered courtyard between two existing buildings that is used for outdoor activities, eating lunch and class gatherings. It is cold and windy with hard unfriendly surfaces! The Governing Council is funding some improvement works to make this a more useable all weather facility and staff are keen to use this as a STEM themed courtyard. Room 3 Reception class is giving the student voice to the design and so far we have discussed: //How do spaces make me feel? (Group discussion) //What is design and what tools can we use to design (Group discussion) //Our favourite places at School (Group discussion) //Children have brought along photos of their favourite places at home // The whole class undertook the measure-up and photographic recording of the existing features and conditions This week we will be building a cardboard model of the courtyard and voting on some key features to include Next week, the class will be modelling up the key design features with play-doh and creating their ideal space! // Stay tuned! #archied #adlarchigram #adlarchitects #adlarchitecture #architectureeducation #architecture #architectsinschools #stemworks #stemeducation @ Stirling East Primary School
