25.01.2022 The lower crane was being taken down today at what will turn into a very poetic building for @crownhotels and @one_barangaroo I know this whole new quartier of Sydney has attracted a lot of controversy - and yes I would have like that building to be on its own presquîle - but now it is in the alignment on the street, so cannot really complain... When we are off COVID, the place will return to its former life, home to 25,000 people working there and many fabulous restaurants and a really nice promenade eventually linking the city to the Barangaroo Reserve... Can I date a copmarison with La Défense in Paris, which in its time triggered the same sort of discussions, but which 50 years later is still a very unfriendly place... Certainly not the case with Barangaroo...
