19.01.2022 When reinforcement needs to be cut in order for a penetration, additional reinforcement is needed to make up for the cut mesh. All too often this is overlooked or not installed properly. 12.01.2022 Did you know that there there are Australian standards and VBA endorsed acceptable tolerances for brickwork? This large home builder either chose to ignore them or thought they could get away with it until their client commissioned an independent new home report by ArchitectInspect. If you are building a new home, get it checked by an expert at each stage of the build to ensure you are getting what you paid for.

09.01.2022 Beauty is only skin deep in the case of this brickwork. Painted #brickwork has become popular in recent years as it is relatively cheap when compared to full body colour through bricks. The down side is that chips and scratches will be particularly evident because the body colour of the brickwork will show through. They may also require additional maintenance in the form of touch-ups. Is it worth it?

07.01.2022 The #builder has done a great job so far with lining up #aluminium #acoustic panels within the #ceiling. We look forward to #inspecting this #build at the #fix phase of the #construction.

07.01.2022 When the #brick sill is installed here we will be checking to ensure that #weep holes are installed to allow water to properly escape from the lower part of the sill. We will also be checking that grout and #mortar is cleaned off the facework in accordance with #VBA #tolerance guidelines.
