25.01.2022 Our principal lawyer recently became an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury law! Specialist Accreditation is a structured peer to peer assessment process enabling legal practitioners to be recognised for their expertise. To be accredited, specialists must pass a series of meticulous assessments on both legal knowledge and its application in practice. To retain their accreditation specialists must undertake significant additional professional development in their area of ...expertise each year. Specialist Accreditation is held by less than 6% of the legal profession in New South Wales! Please contact us on (02) 4444 6808 if we can assist you in making a compensation claim or with any compensation enquiries you may have.

02.01.2022 Granny Flat Agreements The Morrison Government is supporting older and disabled Australians and their families by providing a targeted Capital Gains Tax (CGT) exemption for granny flat arrangements where there is a formal written agreement in place. Tax consequences can be a key impediment to families creating formal and legally enforceable granny flat arrangements.... When faced with a potentially significant CGT liability, families may opt for informal arrangements which can leave open the risk of financial abuse and exploitation, for example following a family or relationship breakdown. Under the measure, CGT will not apply to the creation, variation or termination of a formal written granny flat arrangement providing accommodation for older Australians or people with disabilities. The measure will commence as early as 1 July 2021 subject to the passing of legislation. https://ministers.treasury.gov.au//removing-capital-gains-
