24.01.2022 Weaning time is well and truly underway. Most of the time, the dogs know what to do and the job that has been given. But they do sometimes get set in there own way and are thinking way too far ahead.. so making them wait to be called seperate makes them rethink about it abit.

22.01.2022 Appreciation Post. Thankyou poodles for never giving up and having my back. For always giving 150% even tho the tanks are almost empty. Tucked away in the shed, out of the wind and ice cold rain on the lunch break.

22.01.2022 It's a full house here at the Ardooen residence this morning. Peaches is now resting by the fire with 10 healthy puppies. 5 x red and tan & 5 x black and tan. 3 x R/T females 2 x R/T Males 3x B/T Femails 2 x B/T Males.

21.01.2022 Ardooen Sissy has done a awsome Job giving birth to 7 puppies. She has saved the best litter to last. 5 bitches and 2 males. (Normally its thebother way around) Born early hrs of this morning, and as i like to make sure mum and bubs are ok i slept out too. Lucky it was a warm night. This is her last litter so we will be retaining a bitch. Ardooen Simba is the Sire

15.01.2022 Well today was the end of lamb marking for us. Well untill our ewe lambs finnish. The Ardooen Clan did us proud ( as always). Just over 5000 ewes mustered/drafted and drenched and just under 7200 lambs marked. These dogs had my back every step of the way, from when I get bogged, leaving gates opened, slipping over in the mud trying to catch a lamb. They were always there to back me up. These type of dogs might not suit most people, but they suit me and I'm proud to call them mine. If you don't like them, then that's your lose not mine.. No rest for the wicked tho, back to it, mustering etc and then cattle work. .

14.01.2022 Told you no rest for the wicked. So far over the 1 and half days we have ran just over 3500 ewes and lambs thru the sheep handler to drench the ewes. (Targeting barbers pole worm) Ardooen Champ aka Grizzly Bear using his powerful bark to keep them moving

12.01.2022 Love watching dogs work together and using stock sense. No need to talk to them You will see the freshly weaned lambs not all going in the right direction at the start but once they do, look at what the dogs do, there change in work. Ardooen Simba looks up and then just sits, Ardooen Peaches and Ardooen Lady go down a few knots. They then pick there spot and work together. Im loving how Ardooen Lady ( little red and tan) is turning out. Only 14mnths old.

10.01.2022 We dont do 3 sheep trail, only 2 The Ardooen clan do what they do best . Loving Ardooen Simba style, very in sync with his Stock. If you look, the mob of lambs are behind these 2, but in a different pdk. The dogs convinced these 2 lambs that going that way was not an option. They made a good choice.

09.01.2022 The Ardooen Gang warming up for lamb marking season.. slowly pushing mobs up ready. Ardooen Simba, Ardooen Peaches and the old and almost retired Ardooen Champ (12yrs young). I dont no about anyone else, but i love the lambing and lamb marking season. It brings out the best in the dogs and makes them a true worker. The video goes for abit but I tried to shorten it by pressing pause during the boring bits.

04.01.2022 AND so it begins.... lamb marking. My favourite time with my dogs. The start of breaking in the lambs and setting them up for all future handling. This mob is Mutilples, so a Mob of 400 ewes and est of 6-700 lambs.

04.01.2022 So the Ardooen Clan thought we were having to say a good bye to the heart and soul of all the dogs in the family. Barcoola Rusty (turning 16 this October) went walk about and was missing for 24hrs in the pouring rain, ice cold winds. After searching till I couldn't feel my body last night, then again today, I wasn't giving up till I found her. Even tho I was thinking the worst. But the strong old bugga wasn't going to beaten by the weather. My heart stopped when I found her trotting up a fence line without her coat on, in a pdk that is in the middle of the farm..She is now warm and dry by the fire and that is were she will stay

04.01.2022 Ardooen Sissy has saved the best to last and has given birth to 5 females and a male. Will post pictures of them soon. Will be ready at Christmas time.

04.01.2022 5 of the Ardooen Clan moving 413 ewes and 700 lambs to new pasture after having a sleep over in a holding pdk after lamb marking. Ps this is the mob that I had to walk by foot. Some people may wonder why 5 dogs.. well this is why I use 5 dogs today. Ellie the black and tan running in and barking she is 10, so she is slowing down, even tho it doesnt look it. Sissy, Peaches and Simba are all in there prime and then there the is Little Lady.(in the pink/Orange collar) She is... only just 12mnths. So giving her the opportunity to work on ewes and lambs without having too much pressure on her. She is handling it all very well. So I really only have 3 fully fit, fast, quick reacting dogs on the job. + who wants 100s of lambs breaking back and creating a nightmare.... NOT ME. No laneway or double gates in this movement today either. My dogs are not perfect but who is. I would love to see more videos of real farm work with no edits or cut outs with other dog handlers/breeders. What's the worst thing that can happen, dog doesn't listen sheep go the wrong way and escape...oh well, stuff up can and do happen. It's called life. See more

02.01.2022 This is how we roll, by 4s.. Little buggers got thru and went back to the yards.. ps the little fella got his foot stuck in the fence, he is ok just a sore leg.

02.01.2022 Things don't always go to plan. The dogs were not at vault here, just the ment to be operator.. Getting bogged when your just about to push 400 ewes and about 700 lambs thru a gate way. The poor dogs had therr work cut out for them..I can tell you that they are not very happy with me at the moment
