21.01.2022 Some action shots from last weekends Div 1 game Karina Hutchesson #korfball #korfballaustralia

19.01.2022 Round 4 saw us get one win, one loss and a draw Div 1 had a hard fight against Flinders, with us leading for the first half, Flinders came back and managed to sneak ahead, but we didnt let that stop us fighting and managed to come back, only just missing out on sneaking the win with a goal that only just occurred after the final buzzer, the game ending 17 all. Div 2 T1 once again showed their strength and experience, they had a much more clear cut game winning over Flinder...s 19 - 11. Div 2 T2 showed how much theyve improved over the weeks. They fought hard against an experienced Boomers team, they spent most of the game in front but unfortunately werent able to hold onto the lead all the way through. The close game ended 12 - 14, going Boomers way. Were heading into round 5 this Sunday! #korfball #korfballaustralia

19.01.2022 Happy International Womens Day! Were proud to be apart of a truly gender equal sport. The beautiful game of korfball couldnt be played without both women and men working together, so today we just want to show our appreciation to the amazing women in our club! Theyre a bunch of badass ladies on and off the court #korfball #korfballaustralia #genderequal #internationalwomensday

17.01.2022 We had a couple of near misses yesterday and one break away win! Div 1 played a stellar game against the top team North, the game was close all the way through, unfortunately we just missed out on the win going down 20 - 19. Div 2 T1 won against Glenelg, showing why theyre the top of their Division with an end score of 27 - 5.... Div 2 T2 had our other near miss of the day, they played a great game against a tough team only just missing out on the win as well with the game ending 6 - 7. Were getting close to the end of this years season with only three more rounds left! #korfball #korfballaustralia #thisiskorfball

16.01.2022 **Statement by Korfball SA - COVID-19** Korfball SA is continually monitoring advice from the Federal and State Governments as it relates to community sport and... the broader community and the risks posed by COVID-19. As you would all be aware, from midday Monday 23rd March the Government has shut down all indoor sports centre, a decision that they will review on a month by month basis. As a result, Korfball SA has taken the decision to postpone, not cancel, the 2020 State League season until further notice and suspend all other Korfball activities, and we ask our affiliated clubs to follow suit. We have an obligation to put the safety and well-being of our members and the wider community first. The State League season is something that has always been fluid in length, and Korfball SA will meet again after Easter and provide an update at that time. However, we do not anticipate that our competition will commence any time prior to the June long weekend, as whatever decisions we make will be in line with Government advice and provide clubs ample time to get organised. We thank you all for your understanding during this difficult time and we look forward to resuming Korfball activities as soon as possible. Korfball SA also encourages all members to open the communication channels with each other and stay engaged, We are truly grateful for all of our members, past and present, who continue to work in compromised positions and of course our thoughts are with all of you whose work has been impacted by this shut down. We will do our best to keep Korfball at the front of your mind during this period. Link: https://sa.korfball.org.au/statement-by-korfball-sa-covid-/

16.01.2022 2020 National Club Championships Update It is with regret that Korfball Australia today announces that the 2020 National Club Championships, scheduled to b...e held on June 6th and 7th, will now be postponed. This decision has been made in light of the response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, including the closure of indoor sports facilities and the restrictions on domestic travels, and in the interest of public health. This decision was not made lightly, and was made in consultation with Korfball Australia affiliate bodies. The intention of the Korfball Australia Board is to reschedule the 2020 National Club Championships to October 3rd and 4th, once again in Adelaide. More specific information on this will be announced at a later date, as due to the rapidly evolving situations, some arrangements are still to be made. This rescheduling will naturally be dependant on the development of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it may yet be necessary to further postpone or cancel the 2020 National Club Championships. Any decisions will be made in the best interest of all participants, and in accordance with the advice and regulations from governments and health authorities. In light of the further restrictions imposed by the Government and National Cabinet, namely the closure of all indoor sports facilities, as well as the recommended social distancing, Korfball Australia advises all affiliated bodies, at the state and club level, to cease all Korfball activity for the time being. Action on this front has already been taken by most, if not all, organisations, and we thank them for their prudence and prompt adherence to these new restrictions. We will continue to offer advice as the situation develops, and urge all organisations, as they already have, to continue to act in accordance with government regulations, and in the best interests of their participants. It is no secret that this is a challenging time for the wider community, with businesses and individuals severely impacted, as well as the Korfball community. However, by working together, and ensuring we continue to support one another through these trying times, we will get through this. We thank you for your ongoing support, and when the time is right, we will get back on court together.

13.01.2022 We played two hard faught games in yesterday's final matches. Our Div 2 T1 team had an excellent game against North and were able to keep their undefeated streak all the way through, winning 18 - 9! Our Div 1 team had a tense fight against North. It was goal for goal for most of the game, both teams could never get higher than 3 points ahead before the other team managed to even the score back. It wasn't until the final few minutes North were able to hold on to a 3 goal lead..., meaning we lost 20 - 17. It was great seeing both teams fight so hard all the way through their finals, and we loved how many people came to support us and the sport. It was a great day and season, now we get to enjoy a break and celebrate another great season at our Awards Night in October! Karina Hutchesson #korfball #korfballaustralia #thisiskorfball

13.01.2022 Our very own Sharyn Bungey getting the spotlight shone on her, and man doesnt she deserve it!
