08.01.2022 To our non-Armenian followers who may or may not have seen the recent posts regarding Artsakh, here is what is currently happening. On the 27th of September, Azerbaijani armed forces along with the military and economic support of Turkey, attacked the span of the Armenian Republic of Artsakh border and consequently breached the 1994 ceasefire agreement. Since then, we have seen large scale air and artillery strikes, as well as ground attacks against Artsakh and the borders of... Armenia. The evidence proves that Azerbaijan are the aggressors (something they deny), the stance of Armenia during this time is undeniably clear; self-defence and survival, focused entirely on countering the aggression at hand. The heartache of this is felt by Armenians globally. As a collective, we are aiming to spread as much awareness as we can in hopes that the international community can help intervene before the situation escalates. If you have enjoyed an Armenian film, tried our cuisine, have an Armenian friend or relative or know someone who has lost a family member in this conflict, we urge you to please share as many posts, articles and videos as you can and use your voice to help the Armenians. 04.01.2022 WITHOUT GORKY - streaming NOW on Netflix Australia. A documentary by Gorky's granddaughter Cosima, WITHOUT GORKY is a personal journey into a powerful family tragedy. At the centre of the film are the conversations between the director, Cosima, and her grandmother, Mougouch. The whole family has been shaped by the legacy left by Cosima's grandfather: the Abstract Expressionist painter Arshile Gorky. His suicide in 1948 still echoes and disturbs the family's relationships. Gorky was an elusive character who escaped the Armenian genocide and reinvented himself as a romantic artist in New York in the 30s. #Gorky #armenia #artfilm #armenianart #filmfestivals #ArshileGorky Without Gorky_The film on Arshile Gorky
