19.01.2022 You've seen her face on $50 notes, but what do you know of the woman behind it? She is Edith Cowan, Australia's first-ever female member of parliament. From ...a young age, she fiercely fought for women's rights and the underprivileged and was elected to parliament at 59 in 1921. Though this was controversial at the time, Edith pushed through a number of historic legislations including women being allowed to become lawyers, sex education being promoted in schools and improving migrant welfare. What an incredible trailblazer. #WomensHistoryMonth
