16.01.2022 There is a new #playground now at Buchanan Park in #berwick. Excellent for 5 to 9 but a little tricky for the toddlers. They have roles, swings, carousels, slides and lots of climbing apparatus. Not much in the way of fencing on the way up to the slide so keep an eye on the little ones. 06.01.2022 Lawn bowls.... what is your perception of this sport? Mine was an easy sport for old people. Well my perception was wrong! This is one hard sport to play! Accuracy, finesse, strength, wind speed, competitors, strategy and teamwork are all absolutely key to winning. Plus, according to the fitness tracker, it is an excellent way to track over 2 hours of exercise, using more calories than a 45 minute gym workout. There is also a wide age range of people playing. If you are looki...ng at toning those legs, let's talk about how many lunges you do in each game too. So if you are looking for a low impact sport to challenge you mentally, help you get fit and meet heaps of great people, this could be it. There are training and casual sessions on Sunday mornings if you are interested in giving it a go. Casual memberships are coming soon too in order to make it easier to get in and have a go.
