25.01.2022 A big congratulations to the Japanese Health Physics Society, The Society for Radiological Protection and the Korean Association for Radiation Protection in hosting a very successful Young Generation Workshop in Sendai, Japan. It was wonderful to see the high quality of work being undertaken by future generations of radiation protection professionals.

Based on the discussions at the IRPA YGN session in the 5th Asian and Oceanic IRPA Regional Congress on Radiation Protection (AOCRP-5), held in May 2018 in Melbourne, Australia, JHPS and the Korean Association for Radiation Protection (KARP) commenced the collaboration of young professionals. JHPS and the UK Society of Radiological Protection (SRP) have launched the collaboration of young professionals as part of UK-JHPS coordination since 2018. The purpose of this joint JHPS-SRP-KARP Workshop of YGN is to encourage the active participation of young professionals and promote the interaction of YGN to help them establish mentoring in their area of interest.

Australian Radiation Protection And Nuclear Safety Agency have just published in BMJ Open the analysis of 16,800 brain cancer cases in Australia stretching back to the early 1980s definitively shows the answer is no. Mobile phones do not cause cancer. "In Australia, there has been no increase in any brain tumour histological type or glioma location that can be attributed to mobile phones." (BMJ Open, 2018)....
