Moreso now than ever before, we are hoping that our supporters will continue to order our beautiful handmade items and gifts. This is our eternity symbol, it can be a pendant or key ring, we engrave it with your special message and we make it in both old recycled iron or modern mild steel. 20.01.2022 This is an andiron. I didnt know what such a thing was when someone first asked us to make one, but these items have been around for hundreds of years as essential fireplace accessories. An andiron is placed on the hearth and the fire is built on top, the logs are leaned on either side to build a neat stack which allows the air to pass through and helps to build a roaring fire. They can be used single or double - so the wood is either stacked like a teepee on both sides of one andiron, or the wood sits horizontally across 2 of them raised off the hearth. Weve made one this week for someone getting ready for winter warmth.

20.01.2022 Weve seen quite a few posts from crafts people whore feeling a little vulnerable at the moment, just wanting to make a living wage from their artistic labours. 20.01.2022 This week we did a set of 3 fireplace tools plus 2 toasting forks with a wall bracket to hang the set on. All had rams head handles and matching length of 750mm to keep hands away from the hot fire. Perfect addition to the outdoor fire pit or fireplace.

20.01.2022 This is called Small Silver Patterned Bowl, just 85mm wide. It features a natural texture and streaky pattern from using recycled steel. Both inside and underside have a dark silver finish. It makes a lovely sustained musical note when tapped with a metal object. @ Busselton, Western Australia

18.01.2022 A set of dice, ours are made to look like you found them in great great grannies cupboard, or buried in the backyard. We replace the 6th side with engraving, usually some initials or 2 initials and a loveheart. Look for these on our website under Symbolic Gifts.

18.01.2022 Weve redesigned our Tulip - we wanted to bring in a leaf and make it freestanding. We think weve got the balance just right, the flower is just opened and the stamins add a nice point of interest. Weve added a little engraved texture to the petals too. 16.01.2022 Golden Rose - an old fashioned rose in bloom with a tint of golden brass. We apply golden tones by heating the finished piece in the forge and using a brass wire brush which transfers the brass to the hot steel.

15.01.2022 Weve been working on tools for firepits, wood-fired ovens, pizza ovens and large fireplaces. Weve created a new tool for poking, pulling and pushing your firepit logs which is long, heavy duty, functional, looks good, plus its handmade in Australia. It can be bought as a standalone, or paired with our Andiron making this combo an awesome addition to your outdoor living. The Firepit Tool can be any length from 700mm to 1200mm, it has a fork with hook which allows you to manage your logs with control. The handle is twisted for easy grip and handling, and has a loop so you can hang it away when not in use, made with 12mm round bar steel. 14.01.2022 This week Im going to be showing you pictures of our bowls. We were selling our balls at local market stalls but with those now closed we decided to put them up onto our website onto our online shop. This golden bowl features a natural texture from using aged and scavenged steel and given a golden brass finish. It makes a wonderful sound like a sustained musical note went out with a metal object. @ Busselton, Western Australia

12.01.2022 Heres an alternative to our poker end - a custom modification. The hook adds another layer of functionality, allowing for both push and pull of logs in the fire pit, fireplace or pizza oven.

11.01.2022 The tool ends of our fireplace tools. Every set comes with the fork (which has a hook) and the rake. 09.01.2022 We were asked to make a Tuscan Grill to be used for cooking / grilling in an outdoors pizza oven. We came up with this, handmade from steel 400mm x 400mm with 140mm leg height. Its weighty - at about 8.2kgs. Weve decided to include this as a stock item on our website, if youd like one look under the category for fireplace tools. 07.01.2022 Roger got a new iPad which you can use the Apple Pencil, this is his first drawing with Procreate app. Had to share cos I think its pretty good.

07.01.2022 For the book-lovers, weve designed 2 new bookmarks. This is our Engraved Bookmark, with lightly hammered edges and lightly polished. You can have a quote, a message or something personal hand-engraved on one or both sides. It comes with a faux leather suede cord on either black or tan.

06.01.2022 Last bowl photo for a while - this one is called small blue bowl. It has a natural texture and features a blue finish which is achieved by heating it in the forge. 05.01.2022 Since weve been going to local Markets weve been creating items that are more suited to face-to-face customer sales. Our online sales are focussed on reproducible items, what people see on our website they expect to receive somewhat identically. At the markets our customers can use touch, feel and weight to engage with our pieces which isnt possible with online sales where we rely on photographs. Weve been making some jewellery items, here is our tiger snake which is engraved with detail in the front and brass plated on the rear, and some little lovehearts. All are strung on black or tan suede with nickel plated fixings and clasp. We are selling these for $45 (plus postage), enquire if youd like one. @ Busselton, Western Australia

05.01.2022 This is a practice piece learning the skills of hand engraving. It was originally going to form part of a sculpture, but the project and idea got shelved - still, its a nice object.

05.01.2022 Weve called this one Medium Blue Bowl, it features a natural texture from using recycled steel. Both the bowl interior and underside have a patenated dark blue finish which is achieved by heating in the forge. The bowl has a beautiful feel in the hands. 03.01.2022 This beautifully balanced bowl has a patinated finish to the inside with a hammered texture to the underside, with warm brass finish. The 3 tripod legs add a geometric style with a rustic warm textured finish to give it that authentic ancient feel. Its made from scavenged and recycled mild steel, weighs about 500g. 01.01.2022 We had an order recently for a fireplace toolset with 2 bulls heads and a ram. We were pretty happy with these characters, Im pretty sure theyre already in use with the cold weather were already getting here in WA.

Theyre very nice gifts, heavy with symbolic meaning and its interesting to see the different messages that people ask to have engraved on them.
