25.01.2022 Arty Treasure Shop News! ... Are you looking for Dyan Reaveley's beautiful acrylic paints and ink sprays? What about Dina Wakley's Gloss Sprays? We had a delivery and now all the colours are in stock again! Its awesome to see all the colours on the shelf, its like a rainbow of little bottles! Stamps arriving next week! So many other awesome treasures arrived too but it takes this little arty snail a bit of time to update the shop, so if there's something you were hoping for o...r can't find, ask me anytime. You never know, it might be here either in a box or sitting here on my todo list (my desk). Eg, Heidi Swapp's beautiful Minc Foils, Caran D'Ache Crayons, Posca Pens (black and white to start), this groovy stuff called TCW Light and Fluffy (as recommended by a friend, its got to be the lightest 8oz jar on the shelf, can't wait to try it!), and a "few" other treasures I've bought. Just a few...! lol :D I love arty treasure! Most of the latest releases from Tim Holtz and Sizzix will hopefully all be here by the end of August along with Dina's 8 brand new colours. Most importantly .... Have you made time for art lately? Don't save your favourite treasures for a rainy day! Get crafty and feel all the benefits that being creative provides. 22.01.2022 The whole double spread of an art journal page using something I've been hanging to use since I saw it, an Embroidery Hoop Thinlit die cutting set by Sizzix! So cool . I cut the hoop out of thin wood (as thin as paper) and the embroidery itself is an old postcard (inked with Distress Inks and Oxides) with a beautiful paper rose (an Idea-Ology Botanical Layers piece). Really pleased with how it turned out No theme, just playing inside a friend's book. . Stuck on a blank la...rge pair of pages? Add paint and ink to one side and close the book while its wet... instant duo background and or butterfly! . . Again, Tim's stamps saved me heaps of time creating these drummers All 12 musos were stamped using the toy soldier from the Tim Holtz Christmas Blueprints (cms135) stamp set. The saying is a very fine lasercut chipboard piece (coated with gesso), made by @scrapfx. They have hundred of amazing designs! Suits the gypsy soul theme perfectly. People will be restricted from going outside of their homes only one person per household will be able to leave the home each day, but only for specific purposes. The South Australian Premier Steven Marshall says the measures are a necessary circuit breaker to allow for a contact tracing blitz on cases linked to the Parafield cluster. There have been two new cases of coronavirus cases in SA, both linked to the Parafield cluster. There are now 22 cases directly linked to the cluster and a further seven suspected cases. SA Health authorities say they are at a critical stage in their investigation and are urging anyone who went to, or ordered takeaway from the Woodville Pizza Bar between 6 and 16 November to immediately self-quarantine and get tested for coronavirus. The Chief Public Health Officer Nicola Spurrier says the particular strain of the virus is breeding very, very rapidly with a short incubation period of about 24 hours, and with infected people showing only minimal symptoms. Professor Spurrier says authorities have acted to shut down the community, because waiting any longer would see South Australians incur similar lockdowns to Victoria.

17.01.2022 Another fab demo from Tim and Mario :D Lots of useful info and laughs! Do you have the Distress Crayons yet? Bought them years ago and put in a drawer? Get them out and start colouring! FYI, for those who don't have Distress Crayons yet, don't fret! They're on their way :D Some colours have been out of stock for ages at my supplier but hopefully this new demo will inspire Ranger to make more! Happy creating!

I've made a towel for Ford, dressing gown and cuppa for Arthur, dolphins leaving Earth (saying thanks for all the fish), Trillian and Zaphod are perfect just as they are, coloured the meaning of life (42) with gold and orange (don't ask why, it just is), and the probability drive turned the spaceship into the book, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy The two mice are hitching a ride too. 15.01.2022 Creating with my groovy frog stamp again... this time with a 'Pink Ink Designs' bee (Stickles glitter glue wings) from their Hobgoblin stamp set (the set with the fun flying goblin). Made with Idea-Ology stickers, die cuts and metal pieces (that's a tiny clip at the top, they're so little yet really useful) plus an old wand and tiny wooden ladybird. . Its so good to create and colour for no reason other than just because, its been a wonderful couple of hours. 14.01.2022 Its always crafty arty time here! . A pack of Tim's awesome new Kraft Mixed Media Paper paper fell open yesterday so I was forced to play... life is hard for some! Its similar to the Strathmore Mixed Media Tan Paper, slightly lighter in weight, much better to work on than regular kraft cardstock I stamped using the Caran D'Ache crayons instead of ink for most of it. Was so enjoyable! . I've used Tim's stamps (Media Marks set and his clock), Archival Jet Black Ink (to s...tamp bees and clock), Caran D'Ache Aquarelle Crayons, Posca Pens, black pen, Stickles glitter glue (star dust, wings and beetle), splash of water and Idea-Ology Entomology (bee and beetle) with the Metal Flowers, Antiqued Gem (will find it's name, I cut off the hanger bit), Clock Hands and fasteners, covered in Distress Paint. Glued down with Matte Collage Medium . Couldn't decide on words. Might need to change the colour of the clock hands or sand them off a bit... or leave it as is and start a new one! An art journal page (Gypsy Soul for Australian Art Swap Group) using Dyan Reaveley's gorgeous bright acrylic paints with Martha the stencil, dreamcatcher rice paper from Studio Light (Art by Marlene), Tim Holtz stamps (I used Tiny Text in the background, love this set) and dragonflies painted then embellished with Stickles glitter glue and Stickles Gel. The heart of Martha is clear gloss texture paste and the saying "be the change you want to see in the world" is a laser cut piece from ScrapFX :) The actual journal page has a line down the centre (as its a book), so using Affinity Photo (sort of like Photoshop), I've fixed it to make it look like a whole image... just need to blog about how it was created now! Martha dreaming of changing the world is July's thank you card image :) Hope she makes you smile!

Plus a quote from Tim Holtz stamps (Handwritten Thoughts). . Some days you start, restart, try again then throw your arms in the air and just keep going even if the horizon is crooked, trees are clunky and colours are odd... at least the sky, ants and lizard turned out ok! . 06.01.2022 Been playing this afternoon and grew an abstract daisy :) I used Dylusions paint with stencils and brushes. Just a few more elements to add but just had to share :) So pleased its turning out ok! I love daisies! . The other photo shows a very short descriotion on how it was painted. 03.01.2022 1 owl 2 ways Both are painted using Caran D'Ache Neocolour II watercolours (one on Strathmore watercolour paper, one on scrapbooking cardstock) and have Tim Holtz's Moonlight Owl die cutting template and a few Idea-Ology stickers. The second owl was cut out and glued to a background painted and embossed using the 3D Botanical design. I added the moon to the second owl afterwards... nothing like gluing something down only to peel it off again to add a moon! Lucky matte med...ium dries at my speed, slowly :) . .
